21st Birthday & Breastfeeding?

Hi ladies, my 21st birthday is Wednesday night and after a long pregnancy and stressful few weeks as a new Mom I DO think I deserve to have my first legal drink or two and enjoy myself. I'll be leaving Hallie with MIL for a few hours while OH and some family and I go out to dinner.

I have some milk frozen but the amounts vary from 1oz to 2.5 oz . (The little medela tubes). I have the 5oz bottles that I can use as well. I'm not sure what Hallie is having at each feed exactly because she has been eating every hour for the past few days but before then she could finish a 2oz bottle then eat for another 20 min from "the tap."

How much should I send to MILs? If I have two mixed drinks howw long after can hallie bf again? Thanks ladies.

1 hour per unit as a guide. How old is she? Only thing I'd be concerned about is nipple confusion. I'd send quite a lot just because its better to have too much than not enough.

She will be three weeks tomorrow but has been bouncing back and forth between breast and bottle for a week now

I would leave two 3-4- oz bottles,plus 2-3 oz spare.
After two mixed drinks you should be ok to feed aafter a couple of hours.

There's a chart on motherisk that tells you how long to wait before breastfeeding based on your weight and number of drinks

I would personally wait longer than 1 hour per drink as per the chart.

What about expressing milk that day and then leaving your MIL with fresh milk so that she doesn't have to worry about trying to guess how much and you can just freeze the leftovers?
