I just had my 20 week scan yesterday, they confirmed he is indeed a boy, his hearts fine, brain looks fine, took measurements for spine, head, tummy, checked for blood flow and liquid in his tummy! Looking great!
I knew I was on the cusp of a healthy BMI. When I think back now, I can't remember whether I was literally on the dot for healthy BMI and my midwife said oh you just missed out on an early scan or something.
But at my clinic appt after my scan the doctor said I'll see you in July for your next scan, he had mentioned my scoliosis which I need an extra look at with an aneasthetist for my spine, and I thought he meant xray, and I asked 'you mean I need another X-ray?' He said no your BMI was just under so you require a 28 week scan to ensure the baby is still growing normally as you were underweight.
So it has confused me because I'm sure I was on the dot, or maybe even 0.1 over my BMI or something daft.
The sonographer seemed very happy with the scan and didn't mention anything worrying in the notes. Should I be worried or is this completely normal? Anyone else had to have a 28 week scan?
I'm not complaining, I get to see him again, but did anyone under their BMI have any issues on the later scan? Xxx
