2days of +opk's?????

Hi I'm on clomid 100mg day 2-6 and daily maetformin 500mg,I had my first ever + opk this month on cd 16 at 8am so bd at around 8pm when dh got home,I'm on cd 17 today and again got a +opk?? Can anyone help me as to roughly which day iv O'd I cannot chart temp as I have other issues that make changes in my temp also cd 15 and cd 14 dh was away with work ao no baby dancing will this mean iv missed "the window" as iv been told sperm should be ready and waiting b4 you get a +opk its all so confusing iv been on clomid for 7months now but this is my 1st month with metformin added and 1st month iv had +opk's so I'm hopefull but highly confused any help would be greatly appreciated x

Sometimes I used to get 2 days of a LH surge, you should take the first day as your positive and assume you ovulate about 24 hrs after it. my fertility doctor said to me that a women usually ovulates in the early hours of the morning. You could of ovulated on day 17 or early on 18.

Also I would say you bd at the right time, the day you got the positive. I was very confused with the timings as people say sperm can live up to 7 days etc... my fertilty specialist said to me it has been know, but it is very unlikely that most sperm live past 2 days, that is why he asks us to bd every other day to up your chances. It is good to bd before you ovulate, and you did, so there was sperm alive and waiting.
