Hi

I had my first baby in September by EMCS (labour not progressing and she had a low HR)

Just wondering when any of you other CS ladies had your second baby? How long did you wait?

Reccomendations is around 2 years but I was actually thinking of starting TTC next December?

I have recovered well from my section (took about 6 -8 weeks to be back to 'normal) although I did get a nasty infection immediatly after my section and I was on drips for 24hrs)

What are the chances of a vaginal birth next time round or would you all opt csection again given the chance?

Im not sure really....I guess i'll think more about it next year if we still plan to TTC

There will be 2 years and 4 months between my first and second child. I will be having an elective cs for this child though a vbac was offered to me. Unless the first birth was traumatic, you should be able to have a vbac but that has to be discussed with your doctor. The reason I had a cs the first time was because the baby was responding to the pitocin and her heartrate kept dropping.

My first c section was an emcs also, I was told to wait at least 12 months before getting pregnant again, my daughter was 17 months when I conceived my son, I was going for a vbac as my consultant refused to give me an elective 2nd time round, my daughter was a big baby 9lbs 10ozs (i'm only short at 5") so I was scared my son would be a biggun too! I had a scan at 34 weeks and they estimated he was already 6.5lbs, i asked for a c section again but was again refused, my waters broke at 41+1 weeks and I was in labour for a 43 hrs and then they decided to give me a c section due to poor progress, my son was 10lbs 12ozs! and they said there was no way I woulda have been able to give birth to him naturally. I recovered no probs from both and again was told to wait 12 months before thinking about getting pregnant again.
