Hi I am looking for some advice. Does anyone know if you can earn a 2nd wage from a part time job while you are off on maternity leave from a full time job? And does it make a difference if its when recieving company maternity pay or statutory maternity pay?
It is a theoritical question, I am due to go off on mat leave for my 2nd baby next month and I would love to get a part time job ( evening & weekend shifts so OH would be home by then ) to earn more money - but I think this would not be allowed the same way as if you get SSP from one company usually their policy is you would be in breach of contract / disciplinary action if you still went to work for another job.
Sorry for the long winded question - Ideally I want to get a part time job while I am off work and then hand my notice in so I would not return to full time but I cannot risk waiting to hand my notice in before applying for another job if that makes any sense
