3 days old & I'm struggling with nights

Thanks RaspberryK :)
I agree about never waking a sleeping baby and she looks so content at the moment <3
I truly thought I remembered how hard these first weeks are but boy have I been reminded I didn't!!
So glad for BnB otherwise not sure I would of kept going!

I have forgotten how hard the first 6 weeks were... reading these posts remind me. There must be a biological reason i.e. we'd never survive as a species if we did remember as we'd only ever have 1! lol.

Glad things are working out. I'm in the same boat, my lo was born monday morning and the first night was constant feeding. Last night was tons better as my milks started coming in, but i still had the problem of putting her down. I find that burping after feeding is a terible idea for us. I burp halfway, back on boob to settle, let her sleep, wait a few mins then can put her down in her crib half the time. Other half we co-sleep.

Glad your OH is on board with the co-sleeping, I was going to say, tell him its your choice since you're the one having to stay up all night. My oh was uncertain at first but now he's more into it than me! lol Our toddler is still in our bed most nights too as we love having her close!

Thanks gills.
Our toddler comes in every morning for the last hour or so & i love it :)
I think I'll try burping half way tonight & see if that helps with her settling in her moses basket. She's still quite mucussy (sp!) from being born & I don't think that's helping.
Btw it looks like our first LOs are 6 weeks or so apart and a week between dd2!!
How has your DD1 taken to dd2? Hope you don't mind me asking x

i had the same problem with my first and i started bf-ing him lying down and then let him stay asleep curled up next to me. your oh needs to understand that you need to sleep to function but if he can't be persuaded then i would turn over the responsibility to him by pumping enough for 1 or 2 feeds so dad can wake up and do a couple of the night time feedings.

This can create supply issues in the early weeks unless you pump while LO is feeding from the bottle which defeats the point.

Lol! Theres quite a lot of us who have babies the same ages, its scary! Must be a boring time of year for us all to get pregnant!
I don't mind at all! She's taken really well so far. First time she came into hospital she cried but I think that was because of the strange surorundings. She held the newbaby and kissed and cuddled her, taking her hat off and touching her hands etc. She's been just as good since, always asking "wheres penny" or saying "penny milk boob". Doesn't seem to be jealous yet but we are trying hard to make sure she isn't ignored. Its helpful that OH is off for 3 weeks so by then I'll be able to cope better and give her attention when he does go back to work.

I'm still waiting on the jealous stage...I'm sure it'll appear at some point! Just hope its a short phase!

My newborn was much better once the mucas had gone, settled so much easier so hopefully yours will be the same!
