I've been off the pill for about 3 weeks, give or take a few days. My nipples are SO painful that I can't touch them at all. Just a hormone thing from coming off BCP? Or could I be getting pregnancy symptoms this soon?

Any advice is appreciated :)

It really depends. Are you ovulating? How long is your LP?

Some women can conceive their first cycle after the pill, but without knowing when/if you ovulated it's impossible for any of us to say that you could be pregnant.

Some cycles my boobs/nipples hurt really bad right after ovulation up until AF. Some cycles they don't bother me at all.

Bottom line when it comes to TTC is that everyone's symptoms are different. If you are pregnant enough to have symptoms, you can turn a HPT positive.

So - test!

Well I'm not sure as I haven't been tracking or temping or anything. We BD every day so it is possible for me to be pregnant, but is it normal to show symptoms this early?

It's really hard for me to really know what kind of symptoms I'll get leading up to AF as I've been on BCP for so many years, I've forgotten what it was like before.

Well, you don't really know how early it is because you don't know when you ovulated.

You can have "symptoms" any time in the TWW. But that doesn't mean they are symptoms of pregnancy. PMS symptoms mimic pregnancy symptoms, so a lot of women go crazy trying to figure out if what they are feeling is pregnancy related or AF related.

The only way to know is to test. When do you expect AF?

My first cycle off BC my period came as usual 28 days later, but not everyone is so lucky to have their cycle be so normal. I was on BC on and off for 13 years.

Well I should be getting it in about a week. So should I just wait until then to see what happens? I don't want to waste my money or energy on testing far too early..:flower:

Hi Buffyx :hi:

Sorry to mix in but when I stopped taking my BCP back in October 2013, I had a horrible month where I had, among other things: painful breasts, cramps on/off, horrible back pain, nausea on/off and headaches. I really suffered that 1st month and felt pregnant, especially during my 2WW. We didn't even try very hard that month because I felt so horrible:wacko: Luckily I felt better the next couple of months after but still felt like my hormones were giving me "symptoms." My 1st cycle off BCP landed around 26-27 days and have been so ever since which is what I believe they were before I started taking BCPs:thumbup:

So yeah, I wouldn't read too much into anything the first month off BCP, maybe not even the next couple of months or so either:winkwink: Of course if you BD'd during your fertile time it's certainly possible but I'd just not read into anything and see what happens.

Good luck :flower: :dust:

That's ok. Thanks for that! You're probably right :) I'm probably just having crazy symptoms from coming off the pill. Hopefully my AF returns to normal like yours did :flower:

Same thing happened to me, I was one BC for 14 years and finished my last pack on 7/19/14 and the very next day, I had a 1 day period and then 26 days later I had my normal period. I read online that it takes about a week for the BC to get out of your system, but I worry that being on BC for so long may prevent us from concieving for awhile :(

I heard the same thing from the current girlfriend of one of DH's friends. But I think it depends also on what type of BCP you were on. I think the girlfriend meant that mini-pills are better for when you're planning on conceiving at one point. She meant that the body recovers the hormonal balance quicker while on regular BCPs, it can take up to a year:wacko: Don't know if this is true though, might do some research on it:thumbup:

I was on BCP for about 5 or 6 years. My withdrawal bleed was 7 days and heavy!

I've read it doesn't matter how long you were on the pill for, as long as you're ovulating. BCP also leaves your system very quickly, so it's possible to fall pregnant right away.
