Hi Guys,
I have been "trolling' these pages for a while now, I love reading about all the success stories, but I thought I would post about myself, for no other reason than to vent, and hope I connect with someone who is in my boat, or has been, and had some success with TTC.
My hubby and I have been TTC for coming up to 3 years. Apparently there isn't anything wrong with either of us, apart from a very mild case of PCOS (and that depends on what doctor you ask - there have been many!). I seem to be ovulating every month, get AF generally between 30 - 35 days each month (never missed it), have tubes checked (ouch), been tested for everything else, but still no luck.
I have tried Clomid for 6 cycles and IVF once (got 31 eggs - yay, 6 fertilized, 3 made it to transfer, none "Stuck"... Boo.). I also got OHSS, not fun.
I'm currently taking it back to basics by eating well and trying to take better care of myself, by exercising and not stressing too much (easier said than done, I'm a "busy and "adrenal" person - My Homeopath told me that news). I have also just invested in the Clear Blue Fertility Monitor and Pre-Seed, hope to use next cycle. As well as taking supplements and baby Asprin - why not, it can't hurt.
I've lived through people telling me they aren't having kids, only to be on their 2nd and 3rd, accidental pregnancies from friends, god forbid they talk to me about it... blah blah
I feel that my dreams are being taken away from me, and as much as I'm trying, I am starting to get angry.
I would love to hear your success stories, what you did to make it finally work, how long you waited etc.
Thanks for reading.
Much Love. xxx

Maybe not the story you are looking for but thought I would share.

My situation is very similar - "nothing" wrong - mild pro (not even pcos). No reason.
For my first ivf I overstimulated. I had 46 follicles, 24 eggs retrieved, 3 fertilized, 3 transfered and none implanted. I read tons of information on how overstimulating can affect the egg/embryo quality.
My second cycle I had 20 follicles, 6 eggs retrieve, 6 fertilized (100% fertilization), and I have my baby girl now.

Hugs - dont give up. xo

Hi Blue, That's exactly the story I was hoping to hear. We have been considering doing another round of IVF, but the cost factor worries me a little for it to fail again. I don't mean just $$$ cost either, at this stage, I'm not sure I can deal with another fail emotionally.
I got OHSS very bad, was in bed for 2 weeks, couldn't walk, eat, or breathe well. My mum is very old school and she's been telling me that could have been the reason none of my eggs "worked" How long were you trying all up, and what age are you if you don't mind me asking?
Hugs back, your daughter in the photo is adorable. :-)

My dr told me that the ohss could have affected egg quality and tons of info online said the same. I was in hospital for a week with ohss and ended up having to be drained it was so bad and had lung scans and ct scan since my breathing was so bad. I hear you - its horrible.

I am 31 years old and dh and I had been trying for 4 years

I totally understand how disheartening it is to pay money and pay physically and emotionally for this journey. It is scary to think about trying again. My dh really pushed me to try again - I was so scared. My dr was so conservative the second time. I also took metformin - even though my blood results and pcos don't show that I need it. Any questions - honestly!!!

Wow, you have given me hope that after 4 years you got your little bundle of joy.
My OHSS wasn't as bad as you. They checked my lungs, but lucky no fluid got in there. At least I got to know the feeling of being 6 months pregnant.
I am leaning towards IVF again. I guess when my emotional strength is back I will go for it.
Honestly, thanks so much for your reply.
So are you trying for #2 now?
xxx

I had a fet in November that resulted in a chemical pregnancy. We were about to start another ivf cycle this month but it may be next month instead.

Hi ladies sorry to hear you have both had/having a rough time of it x great to hear you got your little bundle of joy blue and best of luck for FET

I don't have a success story (yet) but my situation is similar x I'm 26 and oh is 31 diagnosed male infertility so straight to ivf x first round lady year 30 follies 19 eggs, 13 good enough for icsi, 6 fertilised, 2 not so great quality embies transferred on day 3 - BFN but no surprises really - I had mild ohss

Round 2 in April - 41 follies, 19 eggs again, 14 good enough for icsi, 7 fertilised. I had moderate ohss with a nice sickness bug on top - never been so ill in my life! Luckily 4 were good enough to freeze so hopeful they r better quality than last time x looking at FET in July/aug x

We r also ttc a little over 3 years now and it's beginning to get to me more so people accidentally getting pregnant or getting pregnant having been trying for a baby for all of two months to then tell me they r not ready for a baby they didn't think it would happen so quickly grrr!

Interesting that you both mention ohss can effect quality I never knew but have always though quality over quantity is so much better but how do u control it I was put on the exact same protocol the second time round

The differences between my first and second protocol were as follows.

Cycle 1 Cycle 2
Lupron to suppress .1 Lupron to suppress .2 (higher suppressant)
Puregon 150 gradually increasd Puregon 100 gradually
to Puregon 250 decreased to Puregon 25 (lower stimulant)
Menopur 75, doubled near end Menopur 75 reduced to 37.5 (lower stimulant)
Progesterone 2ml PIO Progesterone 1ml PIO and suppositories

All that being said there are other people on here who had ohss and still got pg.
