30-Somethings TTC#1

OMG Congratulations Bonjo!!:happydance: This really has been a lucky thread!

 Kittykat, sorry for your loss :hugs: FXed your first month back TTC is a lucky one for you.

:witch:day for me, I've got a bit of a wait now as DH is away the week of O in August so will be Sept for our next go - still plenty of time to lose a couple of pounds and try and be a bit healthier.

how's everyone else?

Hey, I am back casually TTC (a more relaxed approach basically). I am 35 in October, had a break from TTC for 7 months after my 2nd loss in November.

Got a major PMA boost and I am ready to see what happens, I am on CD7 so I am expecting OV in the next 7 days tops, which is how I am managing my TTC at the moment. x

My next AF is due by 20th August, so we shall see what happens. x

Good luck to everyone and I wish you all lots of sticky :dust: to catch those :bfp:'s.

Ps - Hope you can get to a doc's Yellowstars, a few ladies I have spoken to have had similar things happen to them, must be frustrating for you, are your cycles usually that long? x

Hiya KittyKat! Welcome!

Wow I didn't realize there were six in july!!

Crazy, isn't it! It really was a BFP Explosion! I'm hoping the rest of us can tag along in August!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Stupid witch! :trouble: Let's just hope something crazy happens and you O early or late! You never know!! :hugs:

In the last part of the TWW here. AF is due in about 8-9 days. This was my 3rd month on the lowest dose of clomid. I will have to go without clomid for August, as I only had a 3 month prescription. In a few weeks, we will have been trying for a year. My DH had a SA done, and some of the numbers came in a bit low (but according to the new WHO standards, his numbers are in the normal range). But there were white blood cells present so he has an appointment with a urologist in early September. What's frustrating is that my dr. Will not do anything more for me until after his appointment. :(

Our first Anniversary is Sunday! We are spending 5 days at a romantic B&B in Savannah, Georgia. :)

sorry this has turned into a novel.:) I hope everyone else is doing well!

Thanks Squirrel, you never know! Does anyone know if there is anything I can do to make O earlier??

:flower: Happy Anniversary Lucie, I hope you have a lovely time in Savannah. It's frustrating your Dr is making you wait until after your husband's appointment! We are nearly up to one year ttc too so will be going for tests in October if we don't get lucky before then.

This thread got 6 BFPs in July so here's hoping :)

:hi: everyone - lovely to see we have lots of newbies with the new thread!

Im 31, DH is 37, we are on our 10th cycle ttc #1. We've tried (well perhaps just me as I discovered if I tell DH too much it, ahem, affects his performance) lots of things from SMEP, supplements, grapefruit juice, OPKs, no alcohol (horrible), loosing weight, psychic reading. I am sure there are others Ive forgotten about. This month TTHF with no OPKs or anything!

Lets hope the BFP explosion continues :bodyb:

Hi Ladies,
Hope i can join you i am 33 and ttc number 1.
We have been ttc off and on for 2 years and its all getting a bit much, Hate all tests done and no reason why we cant just does not seem to be happening.
CD19 today off a 28 day cycle.

 Purplerain, sorry to hear you're having a tough time :hugs: feel free to have a rant anytime!

Good to hear from you Waiting4Baby, can I ask what the grapefruit juice helps?

J x

Squirrel, forgot to ask if you could update my next test date to 26th August. Thanks :)

I'm sure there are plenty of supplements that could potentially help move O forward. I am trying soy for the first time this month (took it CD3-7) and hoping that will bring it forward from CD17-20. Already getting a lot of CM on CD11!!!! We'll see when my CBFM gives me a peak, but I'm hoping it is soon.

You may want to do some research on soy and see if it might be good for you. They call it 'nature's clomid'.......

 Glad you found us! And yes, let's very much hope the explosion continues! I kinda was feeling down about the summer explosion and the second I removed it from my siggy - BAM! It started raining BFPs! :rain:

I'm sure we'll hear from parkgirl soon. She had a good feeling about this month! I'm taking the month off myself in a way. My whole cycle is screwed up. I got what I thought was AF 2 weekends ago (verrry little blood in a 24 hour period) and then last weekend out of nowhere all this bleeding. I'm almost thinking it was another chemical pregnancy. I had already started using my cbfm so now I'm looking at CD 13 which is probably more like CD 6 but there wasn't anyway for me to reset the monitor:growlmad:. I have my fertility specialist appt this Thursday and I'm hoping to get some answers. So for now I've accepted that I'm going to have to wait till the fall. But then again it's a fall-bfp-free-for-all after all! Have a good weekend Squirrel!!

:hugs: Perhaps go ahead and set the monitor to CD5 (the latest you can set it) and still use it? If you reset it tomorrow morning during your window, yeah, you'll be on CD7(ish) but it should still be able to pick up your surge if you start using it now. Hope your appointment goes really well and the doctor can give you a lot of good information and a plan. :hugs:

Fall is a better season than Summer, so the BFP-Free-For-All will be even crazier than the Summer BFP Explosion! :haha:

I can't remember if it was in this thread (the old one really) or not... but I ordered some PH strips from ebay and tried them out. A couple days ago my ph level was a 5. This morning I did the BSF, :sex:, and then a few hours after that retested my ph level and it was at an 8! So I assume it was higher when we :sex:

The theory is that more acidic CM will kill off some of the sperm (people who try for a particular gender say girl sperm can handle more acidity than boy sperm). So to raise your PH to a more neutral or alkaline level you put baking soda on a finger (hence the BSF) and put it up in your hooha without getting it on your cervix. Then about an hour later you're supposed to :sex:

That's the theory anyway, and I figured I'd give it a shot.

Oh and in other great news, I started taking soy iso for the first time this cycle (120 mg on days 3-7) I normally get a peak on my CBFM on CD17 - 20 ish. Well, blow me down, I got a Peak on CD13!! I backed it up this afternoon with a digi OPK and got a smiley!

So I'm hoping between the soy, maca, and baking soda my chances will be good this time around. FINGERS CROSSED!!!!! But please don't let me get my hopes up too high. I don't need a repeat of Cycle 6 where I was just super sure I was PG... That was a bad, bad time....

Please don't take Soy without researching it. There are some people for which it screws up their cycle -- particularly taking too much, I think. I don't want to be advocating it without you looking at your own personal situation... :flower:

:wohoo: If nothing else an "on time O" is a major success!

Good to hear from you Waiting4Baby, can I ask what the grapefruit juice helps?
Grapefruit juice is supposed to increase the amount of CM you have. Ive been trying this for the last 4 cycles and I get loads - been on holiday this month and couldnt get any and as Ive not been doing OPKs its been hard to know when I have O'd this month as I havent had much CM at all.

Oh Maxxi, its soo frustrating when your cycle is all over the place isnt it? Ive not had lots of bleeding during my cycle but I've had my O day change by about a week and a half, and AF being about 2 weeks early/ late. Good luck for thursday :hugs:

Wow! Go Squirrel!! I hear you about not getting your hopes up too much I think it was my 7th cycle where I was absolutely convinced I was PG. I'll try to keep your feet on the ground!

What have you all been up to this weekend? We went to see Inception at the cinema last night and then out for dinner. We only split a bottle of wine with dinner but boy my head hurts this morning!

Today I have some work things to sort out but apart from that just relaxing at home. Will try to drag myself out for a run later on.

I have to say its so strange not knowing where I am in my cycle this month by not doing OPKs. By previous cycles I should have O'd anywhere between sunday and wednesday in the last week. Had virtually no CM so that hasnt helped. But my (o)(o) began to get a bit sore from wednesday and I thought I had some CM yesterday evening. Hmm.

I suppose if I am properly TTHF then I shouldnt be even trying to read my symptoms and just see what happens. Hmm.

Hi ladies. I feel like I've been gone for months, but it's only been a week. I'm going to catch up on what all has happened here, but I wanted to update my testing date that happened while I was on vacation.

:bfp:

Dh and I are trying not to get too excited. Just take it one day at a time and hope this one sticks.

Welcome to all the new ladies!! I hope you get your bfps very soon.

:hugs: I'm so sorry your cycle is giving you problems. I hope you get some helpful answers from the fertility specialist. How are you doing otherwise?

I love all your experiments with the ph test stripes. But, if it works... :) I've been reading up a lot on the soy and I think it could be a great thing. I hope you get good results from it. The CD13 Ovulation is a great start!! I have my FX for you.

Sounds like you are doing a great job a just relaxing. What did you think about the movie? Sounds like you had a nice time out.

I hope everyone else is having a nice weekend. My parents are driving in today to have lunch with us and drop off my dog. They had been dog sitting for us while we were away. I feel kind of bad, but I'm more excited to see my dog than my parents. I really miss my dog.
