300mg protein - what does it mean?

I had a urine sample done this afternoon by my midwide and I have 0.3g/300mg protein in my urine sample, she said she'd send it off to be tested and would get back to me on Tuesday. I am already on antibiotics for a water infection, been on them 6 days and taking my last one tomorrow.. I suppose I'm just curious as to what exactly 300mg of protein in my urine actually means? I'm a bit clueless! Thanks xx

high levels of protein in urine during pregnancy shows a urine infection. 'increased proteinuria' is sometimes concerning because it could be an early sign of pre-eclampsia. Are you noticing any swelling of your limbs?

i have constant protiren in my urine due to kidney constion but in my pregnancys it gets alot worse but before they new what it was they said then below 0.4 they do not consider high enough to be a pre eclampsia sigtn so its more than likely due to your infection i got up to 7.8g in my last pregnancy x
