I've been having pain in my groin for the last week and a half, like a pulled muscle, makes it hard to get up off the ground if I sit criss cross applesauce, or roll over in bed. But since yesterday it hurts to walk too! And go up stairs! And I have three sets of stairs in my house. It is pretty darn painful! I am walking sooooo slow and holding on to walls and counters if I can, I look like I'm 80!

(TMI, and when I use the restroom and wipe, it feels so tender like I'm pushing up on something pressuring outward if that makes any sense at all.)

Is this sticking around till delivery? 8 more weeks of this, I don't know if I can!! :( :( :( My best friend said she had something that sounded similar and it was called SPD.

The second half of your description sounds reminiscent of hemorrhoids. I'm no sure what SPD feels like though, or whether hemorrhoids could account for so much pain that you'd have trouble going up flights of stairs.... Maybe it's SPD and hemorrhoids?

Definitely not hemorrhoids, it's not my bum, it's my vaginal area, sorry should have been clearer about that.

If the SPD affects my inner thighs and all those muscles could it also affect vaginal muscles?

I have had SPD with all of my pregnancies, and it took 3 awful, painful pregnancies before I figured out how to prolong it. With my third pregnancy, I had SPD symptoms that were unbearable by 12 weeks along, and it took months after delivery for them to go away! Thankfully, if you only see the symptoms in third Tri, they're likely to pass quickly after delivery.

You can't undo it. However, you can avoid making things worse. Never spread your legs apart more than about a foot. No squatting. Be carful when you bend. Just treat your pelvis very carefully right now! It might hurt like crazy when you're trying to roll over in bed. Stairs, ouch! I do one stair at a time (putting both feet on the same stair each time) so my pelvis doesn't get as aggravated. Take it easy! I know it sounds impossible, but try not to do too much. You can get much, much worse than you are now. Some people spend their pregnancies in wheel chairs over it.

Good advice! Thank you! And nice to know that even though it's uncomfortable, it's somewhat normal!

Try a chiropractor. I bet your pelvis is out of whack and pulling on strange muscles and giving baby less room. I know it sounds silly to start something new so late in pregnancy, but you will feel the difference after just a couple appointments.

I was not a believer until I started going. It's worth a try if you are in that much pain.

I hope you feel better!

The chiro was my god send. I had hip issues with both my boys and instantly felt better once I started going. What you have sounds like lightening crotch. Lol. When the baby drops and starts to engage. It's like sharp stabbing pains

well i dont know what it is exactly my mw just keeps telling me its 'normal' but im afraid to tell you it gets worse and worse and worse! at least it has for me :( i hope you find something to help the pain

I have this too. It doesn't hurt to wipe though.
My Dr said it's completely normal. The relaxin is working on your pelvis to open it up and get ready for birthing. Not anytime soon but for when you do go into labor.
It's painful. My dh just laughs cause I tell him my crotch hurts.
But seriously!ouch!

The hurting to wipe, I think I'm explaining it poorly. It hurts to apply pressure to that area at all, like sitting, wiping, sex, when I wash in the shower. And by hurt I mean like sore. Maybe it's just tender?

I have had the same pain this pregnancy. It was the worst around 24 weeks. I went to physio and a biokineticist between 24 and 30 weeks which really helped a lot. The pain was still there, but manageable after that. Strangely at 37 weeks it seems to be almost gone. If I walk a lot I get pain, but I think that is more round ligament pain. Turning over in bed at night is definitely not a pleasant experience! Google images of round ligament pain, it's helped me understand why I feel uncomfortable! Good luck, I hope these last few weeks go quickly for you. Oh, and sleeping with a pillow between your legs definitely helps relieve some of the pressure.

I'm the same, although to be honest I'm practically immobile now. If it's localized to your groin, try sitting on an ice pack for a while? Some people find physiology or chiropractor help.

It's unfortunately not round ligament pain. I had that a lot in the beginning of my pregnancy but once my bump grew I didn't really get it anymore. My Dr said that pain tends to be sharp and not stay long, just kind of jab when you twist or stretch certain ways because it's about your abdominal muscles being stretched or growing quickly. What I have is constant and sore and feels like a pulled or over-stretched muscle. I did end up talking to my Dr last night because it was again so bad I had trouble walking up stairs and she said it is SPD, it's due to hormonal changes affecting my ligaments, and there isn't much to be done. She said a belly band helps a lot of women or I could try a heating pad under my bum while I sit. She didn't mention a chiropractor or physical therapist but I see her next Tuesday so I plan to ask about that. She said it will probably stay till delivery and sometimes it sticks around for 4-6 weeks after.

Thanks for listening to me complain ladies :( :( :( sorry :(
