Hi im new on here im 33 weeks pregnant am quite petite am 5'2 and weigh 8 stone 13 lbs. Im concerned about my baby bump everyone i now see comment on it being really small for 33 weeks, I had a 3d scan done at 28 weeks and he said my baby boy was measuring bottom of the scale and will probably be born at around 6lbs. Im worried as i havnt grown in 2 weeks im not gaining anymore weight either. I still feel baby move but not as much as at the beginning of the third trimester. Here is a picture of my bump do i really look tiny? Ive got midwife on tuesday and will tell her im feeling worried but i know they wont give me an ultrasound to see if his growing as the nhs dont just give out ultrasounds easily.

Hey hun,

Welcome to BnB.

I don't think you look small. Everyone carries differently and also babies like to find comfortable spots that might make your bump look smaller.

You can always ask your midwife to measure your bump and see what she say's.

Also 6lb is a good weight aswell so I wouldn't worry to much hun.

Much Love

As long as your bumps measuring ok and the growth scan went ok before then there's probably nothing to worry about. If your midwife was worried then she would have got you in to see someone.

People keep saying to me i look small etc I've only put on a stone as well. Some women jsut don't put on loads of weight, especially if you're eating sensibly and not going to town on the whole eating for two saying.

Plus it is normal for babies movements to be a bit less as he grows and there's less room to play in.

Definately mention any concerns to your midwife though as she's there to put your mind at rest.

Everyone carries baby different, and everyone always has their own opinion. Some people will say you look tiny, others huge. As long as dr appts have been fine I wouldnt worry to much hun :hugs:

I'm 5'2" also (started out heavier than you though) and I haven't gotten bigger around in a few weeks, I'm carrying high and he's just growing up into my rib cage. I asked my midwife should I be concerned as I haven't gained too much weight (until the last couple days come to think of it) or gotten bigger, but my uterus is growing, and so is he. Try not to worry until your appointment, and bring it up, request a growth scan and see what they say.

You look bigger than me and I'm a week ahead!! We have been told baby is small too and to expect possible induction at our next growth scan..... It your fundal height measuring right! I'm measuring four-five weeks behind xx

And our LOs movements have changed alot now, not many kicks and instead stretching and rolling xx

Heya ladies thanks ever so much for taking a look and answering i feel much better about it and not so alone. xx

I think you look spot on for 33wks!

And fabulous too!!

You are about same size I was. I also had everyone telling me my bump was tiny. Anna was born at 39wks at 6lb14oz.

I was sent for a scan by midwife at 34wks as I was measuring small. If you are measuring fine then thats great, otherwise you will be sent for a scan.

Just remember, you will be back in your normal clothes the week after baby is born! :flower:

You look fine to me.
Bump size has nothing to do with the size of your baby anyways.
Here's my 33 pic compared to my 39 week pic..

I've always been 8st .. now nearly 10st but only cause of the bump. My bump is about the same size as your's is now, everyone comments on mine too .. ''Oooooh you looks so small, you can't tell your pregnant'' blah blah blah

I don't mind so much now, because of my small frame I am struggling as it is so I'm pleased!!

Had my MW appointment last week and measured fine for my build, plus they don't think I am carrying much water and it's all baby in there.

There's alot of women as small as we are

Hun u r a lot bigger than i was at 33 weeks on my previous 2 children. They weighed 6lb 2 and 5lb 11, i was scanned regularly from about 32 weeks as my bumps (fundus height) measured small at antenantal appointments. If u r measuring a bit behind its nothing to worry about, sometimes they decide to induce early as baby has run out of room completely but its nothing to worry about at all, its happened to me twice and chances r it'll happen this time too. By all means chat to the midwife about your concerns so she can put u at ease. Some people say daft things about others bumps, im always being told how small i am. At 5ft 7 and 8stone i have to agree im slight lol. Take care xx

...and just to balance it out Im 5ft 1 and started out at 7st 12, im now just short of 10stone, everyone is telling me Im absolutely huge and it must be twins but my fundal height only measures a week ahead, so nothing really and Im worried Im going to be trying to push a 10lb baby out of my tiny frame! We cant win lol.

I was measuring 32 weeks fundal height at my 31 weeks midwife appointment and i feel him wiggling and jiggling but im a real worrier have been through this whole pregnancy cause it took so long to conceive as ive got PCOS. So all the comments from friends and family have just made me worse and even more paranoid somethings wrong with him or my placenta etc. Its just nice and reasuring to hear from other ladies going through the same thing. xx

I was 8st2 to start with and my bump is abit smaller than yours now (even though i feel like a house!), and my baby is already estimated at 4lb11 at my last growth scan! Midwives/doctors who delivered my daughter at 40+10 said "Very tiny baby, expect no more than around 5-6lb.".... She was 7lb14! Dont worry yourself. :) xx

my bump size with baby number 1 was that size at 38 weeks and they thought my son was going to be small..but the bump was all baby and he weighed 10.13 ..

You are same height and weight as me prepregnancy and bump exactly the same at 33 wk. If I wear a baggy top with leggings or maternity jeans its still not massively obvious im pregnant and when i tell people how far gone i am they look at me strangely lol. My LO was a little bit under at 28 wks but at 32 scan right on weight estimating 4 pounds already. Even if it is born at 6 thats fine, my friend has just ahd a 6 pound baby at 38wk and the hospital werent concerned at all and she was home after 24 hours!I think they keep an eye on you under 6 pounds. Stop worrying and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy! xx

Well everyone definately carries differently, your midwife will be checking so please dont worry. When I was 7 months pregnant I went to pick some stuff up from the stationary office at work, as I had done every fortnight or so throughout the pregnancy, the lady behind the counter probably had been wondering for a while but had been polite, finally asked if I was pregnant when I said yes, am 7 months she literally feel off her chair (I kid you not!!) and said she thought I was 3 months, max 4 months!! Hows that for making you paranoid!

Next week am 32 weeks and seriously I dont look bigger than when I was 20wks but I think its all baby so am not worrying, she is moving loads and I have a growth scan next week and despite being on bedrest (have placenta previa) and spending two weeks in hospital where I was fed 4 meals a day (am in Spain), still have put on only a stone and a half, despite starting out a bit chunkier than I would have liked because of all the summer BBQs and picnics! I also think we will be luckier after as will fit right back into normal clothes - honestly havent bothered with maternity clothes, I spent so much time pulling up my maternity trousers I was given that I abandoned them and just bought a few pairs trousers one size bigger than normal and have lived used them since!) Actually honestly still wearing my normal clothes mostly! LUCKY US I SAY!!

Hey Hun...I'm 34 weeks (35 weeks tomorrow) and my bump is just a tiny bit bigger than yours...I have been told by midwife that my baby isn't a big one...won't be any bigger than 6lb, she told me not to worry. I guess some of us just make small babies... like the other ladies are saying as long as you are measuring fine then there's nothing to worry about...

Don't worry Hun, I think you look terrific:) xx
