33 weeks

Its highly likely my baby girl will be delivered on Wednesday when i'm 33+3.

She is estimated 5lb 8 (2 weekly growth scans - everything measured 35-36 weeks on Tuesday)

What should I expect? Is it highly likely she will need NICU?

I've had 2 36 weekers previously x

My baby girl was born at 34 weeks. She needed 10 minutes of oxygen then spent 5 days in SCBU with a feeding tube on antibiotics but that was because she had an infection. Hope all goes well!

It is hard to predict. I have known 34 weekers only need a couple days in transitional care and others need cpap and be in for 3 weeks. In general girls tend to be stronger and slightly more developed, white boys the weakest. I had my twins at 34+1 weeks. 4lb 6oz (boy) and 4lb 2.5oz (girl). I had steroid jabs at 23+6 weeks. Boy needed several hours on oxygen and was 10 days old before he even opened his mouth or attempted to feed in any way. Girl was breathing perfectly and started to open her mouth at 2 days, started to suck at 3 days. Both came home at 15 days old.
