So I've just come back from my 34 week appointment with the midwife and the baby's fundal height is measuring 35cm which according to the growth chart is significantly over the 100 percentile curve.

At 28 weeks, fundal height was 28cm, so the growth rate looks consistent.

I have read on the Internet that fundal height should be within 1 to 2 cm of pregnancy weeks.

However the only thing which concerns me is that if this is true, then why was it significantly above the 100 percentile line. How does the curve get created - does it vary for each lady.

MW was not concerned and has not referred me for a growth scan.

I''ve just had my 34 week appointment and was measuring 35cms. I thought as long as it was no more than 2cms it was fine.

my midwife didn't seem concerned, but then again she doesn't seem concerned about anything ;-)

Just had my 34 week at 33 +4 and measuring 38 so am off for a growth scan

I was always told that your cm should equal what you are in weeks so at 34 weeks you should be around 34cm (give or take 2cm either way). Do you have a link to the growth chart you have?

Unfortunately I don't have an electronic copy.

That can't be right .... You are normal if you measure 1-2cm either way . . . At my 34week growth scan baby was measuring 39+1 , and that put her on the 95th centile . My fundal height was well over 40 as I have high fluid too. . .

I've just double checked and at 34 weeks, 95 percentile is shown as 33cm.

MW did mention that the growth chart is typical for an Asian lady and for a Caucasian lady it would be a different curve ????

Really strange! It's funny but someone on my may thread has said the same thing today, it's weird how the advice is so different!

Similar.

Just loomed at mine and it says its customised based on ethnicity, maternal height, booking in weight.

I wiki give my regular mw a call tomorrow and discuss with her, todays mw mw was a stand in

Yes sounds like a good idea - let us know as its very interesting. If its any hell though my DD was 38cm at 40 weeks which according to that chart means she should have been 3600g and around 70th percentile but she was 2700 grams and 9th percentile.
