Hi
I'm so glad this thread is up! :hugs: most of the people closest to me had kids young and without effort. They give awful advice :winkwink:

Anyway, we got pregnant month one - we only had sex 1x on a day nowhere near my estimated ovulation btw - which was a chemical preg.

Now that I'm hitting month 7, I wonder when I'll go to the doc. I know they say 6 mo, but I am healthy and from a long line og women who gave birth late(43, 45). I eat a seriously strict fertile diet and am pretty healthy. As part of a pre ttc Check up my doc checked basic hormone and fsh levels which are ok.

DH is not interested in per suing medical interventions until at least one or two years. He is 44.

In any case, I'm glad to have all of you to chat with!

Hi there, hope you get bfp soon :)
Btw what is ur strict fertile diet? Ya got me curious. Im sure i have lots of room for improvement diet wise. Ty x

SInce I'm new the forum wont let me post links!!!
Anyway, I follow a diet similar to that proposed by the Weston Price Foundation. There's some info on the web you can find by googling.

A great book for this: Real Food for Mother and Baby by Nina Planck

Good Luck and Babydust

Welcome to the BNB!!! Hope you find lots of useful and supportive advice ;) I certainly have!

Best of luck in your journey and hoping you get your BFP soon!!!!!

Just wanted to give you some hope. I started ttc at age 36 using opks, and 11 months later we finally conceived. My DH is 45 (and in recovery) and my cycles were up to 47 days long, so I thought our chances were pretty low. I became obsessed with ttc, but I didnt go to the GP. The month we conceived I had thought 'right, Im going to have 3 months of drinking green tea and eating lots of red things til ovulation (where did i get this stuff?), daily walking, and lots of dtd around ovulation - and if that doesnt work then Ill consider going to the GP' Giving myself a longer window of time to conceive helped relax me I think, and sure enough the outcome is currently asleep in his cot :) Out of interest I had NO symptoms during the tww except (randomly) an itchy scalp one morning and a bit of sciatic pain 3dpo, which may or may not be related. HTH a bit :)
Keep the faith and good luck :) xx

Hi Dr. M,

I'm 36, DH is 33 and we are TTC for 9 months. DH and I went to the fertility specialist in September. We both got tested and were told we are both normal. We had our first IUI last month and it didn't work. We are having our 2nd one tomorrow and I'm nervous. Because of all these fertility drugs and monitoring appointments, I'm going to take a break next month if the IUI doesn't work this time. I keep trying to have hope but I'm very frustrated.

Hi everyone! Hope you are well this fine snowy Friday! I also am 36 and we are in month 4 now of ttc after a mc in august
I think the right mental approach to all this ttc is really important. Right after we lost our first (which we conceived on our first go.. no opks, temping, idea about OV or anything!), I was a bit obsessed to say the least, to become pregnant again. DH was in denial about his feelings and we didnt really have a very good chance of getting any BFP at all! Now we have talked a bit, I now realise its early days and trying to conceive takes a while, for the most healthy and fertile of couples! So I am now thinking positive, not expecting a BFP, dtd lots around OV each month and hoping for the best. What will be will be is my mantra (until I next get my AF when I tend to go a bit  !!! )
Lots of luck and babydust to all! xxxxx

hi there! I just turned 38 and we have been trying since february, but only the past 3 months I have been doing the ov tests and realized I ovulate later than I thought so was doing it around the wrong time!! are you doing any kind of ov tracking?

we just went to see the fertility specialist, in my mind I want to know if theres anything wrong as I would like to try and have a couple of children.
you are 36 so theres time, however it might be worth getting checked out as you dont want to leave it too late if theres something that needs to be fixed. In some ways I wish we had stated trying sooner but we just were not ready.

i had an ultrasound and I have a possible polyp, and waiting to have a sono. if the polyp is an issue I can have it removed, so Id like to know asap (waiting to hear back from the specialist). it wouldnt hurt for you to have an ultrasound just to look at things? otherwise if you get to 37/38 then theres less time. however if late births run in your family perhaps you will be fine! i found out my grandmother gave birth to my mum at 41, I didnt know that!!

:hugs:

Now Im in the 8th TWW - but this time I'm more into it/nervous/overexcited....probably because I'm out of work for the holidays and have less distractions

Any news from anyone here???
