I've been having regular growth scans because of low bmi. All of my scans at 28,30,32 weeks have been great baby measuring on 50th percentile.

Today baby is on the 20th percentile and I am so worried that he's not going to be ok. It was supposed to be my last scan but they've booked me in for another scan in two weeks time at 38 weeks, she said if babies growth continues to tail off they will deliver.

I'm fine with getting Induced it's juat the wait from now until my next scan I am seriously stressing out and want him to be ok.

The doctor told me I need to be extra vigilant about babies movements and to come in with any concerns.

Anyone else experiencing the same?

Thanks

This is exactly what happened to me last week. Baby went from being just above the 50th centile to below the 20th. At 37 weeks, they estimated his weight to be 6lb 1oz. I was also told to be extra vigilant regards movements and went in to be monitored on Saturday. They normally don't induce before 38 weeks at my hospital, unless for specific medical reasons but as my CTG was irregular, they induced me that night (at 37+2). Due to baby being diagnosed as breech the following day, they scheduled a c section. The CTG that morning showed further irregularities so I ended up having ab emergency section at 2pm on Sunday. Baby Oscar was born perfectly healthy, albeit a little smaller than we previously expected- he was 6lb 10oz x

my last baby was under the 10th percentile and continued to drop so they induced 38 weeks she was fine :) xx

Congratulations! So glad your baby is ok it's scary how fast things can change isn't it!

I can't stop worryinf now two weeks is such a long wait!

I'm just going to be super cautious and vigilant about his movements from now on and hope that he's ok in there! Xx

My little boy was on the 50th percentile at 20 weeks by my 31 week scan he was below the 5th percentile he did go up to the 10th at 33 weeks he never went above the 25th but as he did slightly gain they were happy. Oscar was born at 40+3 weighing 8lb and perfectly healthy! They also told me to watch closely for movement and I did go in to be monitered but baby was fine! Good luck xx

Thanks for your reply. And what a Healthy weight!

My daughter was 6.12 at 39+5. Born on the 20th percentile but quickly went up and stayed on the 50th so maybe I just make 'small' ish babies.

I couldn't sleep last night worrying that my placenta is failing him. He's only put on 1lb in 4 weeks instead of the 2.7 lbs he was supposed to which is what's worrying me :/

Just really be aware of movements. My babies are always small. At my 36 week scan they found no fluid. He was on tenth line as always had but with no fluid they did would need section and at 38 weeks. His movements drastically reduced even though normal on ctg they listened and I had him at 36 weeks 6. He was a lb less than they thought so shows he was in more difficulty than they thought. He was 5 lb 1. He's fine. Just go with your gut if movements change. Your baby will be fine

My niece was born at 40 weeks weighing 5lb 6oz. It was never picked up that she was small but she was born absolutely perfect <3 pregnancy is such a worry! I'm sure everything will be fine hun just keep a really good eye on movements etc and never feel like you're being over the top if you need to call - that's what they're there for

:flow:

Thanks for the reply I'll definitely be extra vigilant

A bit of an UpDATE- had a phone call from hospital today thy want me to come in for an emergency scan tomorrow. So I'm guessing my consultant has reviewed the notes and isn't happy to wait two weeks, im just hoping he's ok and can atleast stay in until 38 weeks to give him the best chance possible x

I'm glad they are doing that. Have they given you steroids if thinking about delivering early? Fingers crossed for you.

They haven't mentioned early deluvery to me and I'd be surprised if I was going to be induced before 38 weeks but who knows. I'm 36 weeks and a day so I don't think they would do steroids at my hospital.

I don't think they induce unless the scan shows massive issues with placenta xx

I haven't experienced the same thing but remember growth happens at different rates through pregnancy. Ive been having growth scans because the babies abdomen measurement at 20 weeks was 3rd percentile, at 28 weeks it was 78th percentile
