Do you have to reach 37 weeks to be allowed to stay home for the birth in the UK? Im just wondering if things happened a bit earlier. I had my 1st at 37 weeks x

they would much rather you were in hospital before 37wks as there are more risks to the baby but they cant drag you into the hospital kicking and screaming either. i think personally id rather be at the hospital in case baby needed extra help

It seems in some areas, they don't want to attend you at home before 38 weeks!

I think it depends on your area. In mine it is 37 weeks but in other areas it's 38 weeks.

It's 37 weeks in my area, but I agree with lynnikins that if I went into labour before then, I'd prefer to be in hospital anyway.

I hope you LO holds on so you can get your homebirth

its 37 here but my mw said a few days early she would be fine to attend

Mines 37 but i imagine if you were closer to 37 then 36 you could fight it
