DH and I have not as yet had a proper discussion about names, although we've tossed around a few 'hypothetically' but it just shows that we agree on nothing! We don't even have a shortlist of possibilities and he's adamant that we have to have a name picked before baby arrives but I just know it'll end up in an argument and I don't need the stress right now. I'm thinking it might be easier to leave it until baby is here as then we'll know if it's a girl or boy as so cut down on the choice. But I can still see us not agreeing. I honestly don't know we can find a solution but just needed to have a small rant! Arghh!

Maybe it would be an idea to at least get a few suggestions on the table before bubs arrives. Maybe write a list each of a few of each and then if there are any that you really dislike from each others list you can get those out of the running early . I hope you can come to some sort of agreement, it should be a lovely and exciting thing to name your baby. :hugs:

I agree with the list thing, that's what I've done. But it's ALL I've done! I don't think it's possible to name a baby before you meet them, esp when you don't know the gender, so I'm just waiting till then lol I mean you could spend hours choosing the 'perfect' name, then have the baby come out and go 'no! This baby is a -insert completely different name here-, not a -insert carefully chosen name-'

Def not something you should be stressing yourself over, think your husband should realise that and just be patient. Maybe it's just his way of wanting to be prepared for the baby's arrival

Thanks, we've agreed to come up with lists separately of names we like (or even just quite like as a compromise) and then compare, but that's as far as we've got so far. I don't feel excited about the naming thing at all, which is a shame I suppose, but am not surprised as we are as stubborn as each other and disagree on lots of things! Fingers crossed for a happy solution!

lol, i know what you mean! my OH is a big fan of naming after people, and I am really against that, since I want a name to be unique (not made up or anything, just not something that reminds me of someone else). so i'm sure it will be a headache when we have to pick names! good luck to you...i'm sure you'll find something you both like! =)
