Hi Ladies,

I am due on Saturay and was last checked by scan (due to midwife thinking baby was breech) on friday 11th. Consultant said baby is head down but didn't mention if she is engaged or not - nothing of the like written in my notes either.

Baby still moves round alot so im not thinking she is engaged :nope:

Is this ok so late on in the game?! Can you go into labour without the head being engaged? This is my first baby. I feel like its never going to happen!! :nope:

I just have a horrible feeling im going to go overdue  i just want to meet my baby!!!

When i had my 39 week appointment baby wasnt engaged either midwife said she was free so am hoping when i go on wed 40+1 she'll be ready now x

You might just have a wider pelvis so bubs can move in and out easily. They say with second babies they can move in and out but wont fully engage till your in actual labour so could be the same for you. Alot of first babies tend to go a little over so i wouldnt worry.

Hey, i'm due on saturday too and baby isn't engaged either. Midwife told me not to worry as some babies don't engage untill labour starts. I'm hoping to not go over due date either. May be having a sweep on friday. Hope all goes well for you x x x

Ive wondered if all the horse riding i do (not ridden since BFP mind!) may have caused a wider pelvis / hips?? Therefore giving baby more room than normal?:dohh:

Ive got a midwife appointment on thursday so im hoping for some good news!! Keep me posted on your appointment :hugs:

Hun dont worry about this- mine was bobbing in and out at every app at 33 weeks I was 2/5 then at 38 week app she was only 1/5 went into labour the next week its not really an indication of when you will go into labour xxxx

They do say that the baby is more likely to engage with your 1st baby but thats not always the case, as you said the baby could be popping in and out and you can definitely go into labour when they are not engaged, my 1st only just engaged, more just sitting in there but my other 2 never engaged and neither has this one :D They just engage as and when labour starts :D

ok, i have just been to the toilet cause i felt wet and i "think" i maybe loosing my plug!! :happydance:

It is a white / clear thing that looked globby and stretchy like sticky if that makes sense?! Do you think its my show - there was no blood or colouring or anything but it was definatly globby and stretchy / stringy!?!?

I'm not engaged either but I hope I will in the next couple of weeks. Hospital Midwife said it could be possibly be because my pelvis is narrower (not wider) as I have a very small frame...we shall have to wait and see what happens...x Good luck x

Yep that sounds like your plug, i have been losing mine gradually since Fri. having pains off and on but nothing worth while yet!! Hope this happens for us asap! xx

Ah - not thought of it this way - i am of smaller build too - size 8 pre-pegnancy.......wonder if it does make a difference?!

I was having pains on and off last night too - lots of BH but seems to have died off this morning

how did you get on at your midwife appointment?
Mine was this morning, didn't go as hoped, first midwife thought baby was breach and when she attempted the sweep it wasn't successful due to me having a narrow pubic bone so i had to go to hospital to have both these things checked out to see whether a c-section was needed or not, turns out as yet i do not, baby is 4/5 engaged so is cephalic and as for pubic bone they aren't worried at all they still think a natural birth is possible. so fingers crossed.
Hope yours went much better x x x
