Just wondering how engaged was you/are you at 39 weeks?

Well I have been 2/5 engaged for weeks and my midwife said probably most it will go with first, rest happens during labour! I went yesterday and I've gone backwards to 3/5 :( frustrating when been doing loads of walking too x

Well Monday I was told baby was 1/5th engaged, today my Midwife has wrote in my notes 4/5ths !!! 4/5ths is less engaged than 1/5th isn't it ? It all confuses me !!!

Yeah it is as far as I know, she said its what they can feel out so by looks of it u and I are getting in same boat (frustrating) grr....my god u must be so fed up after the last few weeks you have had! X

No think 5/5ths is fully engaged Hun

Are u us or uk? Because I was told yesterday UK is other way around and with me its definitely the higher no for what they can feel out of cervix, she said I had a little way to go x

Sorry I've never on any of mine been told what I've been engaged ....

Was just thinking 5/5th wud be fully engaged ........u must be right so.........

My baby's don't usually engage till labour anyhow

Oh god don't worry lol I would never have had a clue if she hadn't said yesterday, the whole thing confuses me too lol I would have thought ur way made sense lol x

It depends what it says on your notes! On mine it says 2/5 palpable which means she can still feel 2/5 of the baby's head whereas the othe 3/5 are engaged! It's confusing cus I can just say I'm 3/5s engaged yet in my notes its about how much the midwife can still feel! So... yeh, I'm 3/5s engaged at 37 weeks!

I'm 5/5 and I'm by no means engaged. 0/5 is fully enagaged. 5/5 is when they can feel 5, 5ths of the babies head, when it goes down i.e 4/5, 3/5 its means how much of the babies head they can feel, when its 0/5 they can no longer feel the babies head and your fully engaged :)

Well at the top in the green notes where it says like Pres Lie Eng and so on, in the box under Eng it says 4/5 so I'm guessing she means 4/5 engaged not palpable  But Monday when I was in the hospital the MW there was saying how baby is so far down that she is ready for labour and so on, also I had a scan yesterday and the sonographer was also saying the same ! Is it maybe cos the MW at the hospital did a Vaginal Examination, and the one today just felt my belly?

I'm 3/5ths engaged and 39 weeks tomorrow.

Sometimes in notes when they write it they put an arrow.. So my notes says 2/5ths with an arrow pointing up... Meaning she can feel 2/5ths if babies head above my pelvis.

Sorry to barge in. I'm nto full term just yet, but my midwife told me 5/5 is not engaged cos it means they can feel 5/5 of the head outside of the pelvis. If baby is 1/5 it means they can only feel 1/5 outside of the pelvis so 4/5 is engaged. CONFUSING lol xx

Don't worry about it :haha:
I'm just so confused ! The one who done the vaginal examination said I'm 1/5 engaged now today my MW said I'm 4/5 engaged but she only done it by feeling my tummy.:dohh::shrug:

that's really confusing  sorry I can't help. From what I've read, baby can go from nothing to fully when you go into labour, so hopefully it doesn't have much to do with when you'll go into labour. Good luck hun xx
