Has anyone else had a 3d ultrasound and had the gender be wrong? She told me it was 100% a little girl first thing but i still am paranoid that she was wrong:wacko:

Don't buy anything til the baby is born unless its nuetral..Yes my cousin had a boy and they said 100% girl..They were so excited to have the 1st girl on both sides and a boy came out. They do pics with 3d..IDK good luck

It definitely happens that they are wrong, happened to my half sisters cousin. They said girl and went NUTS with pink. It was a boy!

I had a 3d at 21 weeks and trusted them enough to buy pink clothes as they got about 10 different shots from different angles. Just had another at 31 weeks and had it confirmed, so they best be right!

With my 1st baby I had 3 ultrasounds (including one the day before I gave birth) and they told me she was a little boy all 3 times...even showed me the boy part lol We bought everything blue...carseat and everything. Well imagine my surprise when she popped out and they said congrats on your GIRL!!! Good thing I had a girl's named picked out too!!
With my second they said it was a boy and he was lol
I think most of the time they are right but not always.

i didnt get a good pic with the 3d of his parts but we got a great under view on the normal ultrasound and without a shadow of a doubt its a boy..i was told girl with my first and it was

Eeek I really hope they're not wrong! I had a private 3d gender scan, and literally 5 seconds after she turned the machine on, she said "you've got a little girl in there, 100%". We got a few really clear shots of the "area" and there definitely wasn't boy parts there...so we've bought A LOT of pink! But I do know there's always a possibility they will be wrong...the tech was very confident though, and said they've never been wrong, so I'm going with it. If it ends up being a little boy, I'll be shocked, but I think I'll be okay with it. :)

I think most of the times when they're wrong is when it's been a 2d scan rather than 3d - I don't think they'd say 100% definite it there was any uncertainty, but guess there is always a tiny chance. How many weeks were you when you had the 3d scan?
I really hope mine was right and is a boy cos if it's a girl she has some very protruding genitalia!! :S

AHh I hope they aren't wrong, we were told at 20 weeks - regular ultrasound that baby was a girl, then again at 30 weeks 3D ultrasound. At 30 weeks they actually showed us... There was NO mistaking those were lady bits LOL

I'm going to upload the picture to see what you guys think.

I was just about 26 weeks when I had it done I added a picture

Looks like girly parts to me!! I noticed you are in Canada (after I seen UC baby)..where in Canada are you?

I think they can be wrong sometimes but I have heard really good things about UC baby's gender results...I went to 3d miracles for mine and they said they haven't had a single person come back and say they were wrong. They checked my baby girl probbly 6 or 7 times throughout the ultrasound just to make sure and each time you could see her bits :) my fetal assessment ultrasound they told me (this was before my 3d one) that they were "pretty sure" it was a girl but couldnt tell me 100% as her legs were pressed tightly together and sure enough they confirmed it at the 3d miracles one a weekish later!

she cant be 100% its only 70% accurate. my auntie was told boy boy boy boy with her we one last year and it was a girl.

Normally, the policy is, if they say 100% it means they are absolutely certain beyond a shadow of doubt. Otherwise they tell you what they 'think' the sex is, but warn you not to buy pinks/blues just yet.

In my case, it's a little confusing. Saw a radiologist who at 24 weeks confirmed the sex of the girl, but said other baby had legs crossed. Two weeks later, same radiologist said second baby was definitely a boy.

Week 28, my OB confirms sex of the boy, but says the other baby's legs are crossed so cannot say.

At my 32 scan, the hospital sonographer said she was 100% sure one baby was a girl, but couldn't tell us the other as 'legs were closed'.

So, I'm taking it all at face value at the moment. I think we are having a boy and a girl, but there is also a great posibility we are having two girls (in my opinion). So will have to wait and see (sincerely hope they are right otherwise one twin will be wearing lots of blue). :haha:

I was told at my 20 wk u/s that we were having a boy. It wasn't until I had my 3D u/s done at UC baby that I became 100% confident that we were indeed having a boy. Lets just say he not only showed it off, but made it very clear that there wasn't a lot to play with in utero, so he was making due with what he had. :winkwink:

Were you told girl prior to your 3D u/s?

They told me about a month before on a 2d ultrasound that they thought it was girl but he wasn't totally sure and at my 3d one the first thing she said was its a girl. && I'm in Alberta

I think it's funny when techs say, "I've never been wrong". Seriously, who goes back AFTER the baby is born to the ultrasound clinic and talks to the tech they had months before and told them they were wrong? Lol, it's really the only way they'd know!

Always praying, I was thinking that too lol!

I've been told 100% sure I'm having a girl at 17 week u/s and then at my 20 and 23 week u/s they couldn't get a great look but both reconed girl.

However if it is a boy then he will have to be a girl still for a few months just until he grows out of all the pink I've bought him lol!!xx
