Ok so today we had are first of two donations for this month. We realised that we where doing it too late. 34 hours after first smiley. When we think she ovulates right after the start of the surge. So today smiley at 2pm donation at 4pm!! Fingers crossed this month is our month.

We've never done it on the first smile.

Sounds to me like you have done it perfectly. We found out I ovulated 12hours after the smiley. We were also doing it too late. The month we did it right we conceived. Good luck xx

How did you figure it out?

The first month we got the smiley weeks early! The month before trying her cycle was 42 days long and she ovulated on day 26! Then every month since then she is cycle 29 and ovulate day 14/15.

First month we got smiley on the Thursday but at the time didnt believe it as she hadnt been drinking due to her Achalasia and so the wee was brown so I said I bet its not really smiley. So we left it till the next morning, still smiley! Then smiley that night so we went then and the day after. But too late imo.

Month after pre-empted it and did the Saturday and Sunday with no smiley face. Then boom Monday night smiley but we couldnt go damn it!!!! Smiley at 6pm then in morning at 7am then gone at night. Went that night so we think missed it again.

I said she has a hostile lesbian vagina lol!!!!!!!

So we think we have missed all the times until now. Got smiley yesterday at 2pm donor came round at 4. Then today did same.

Last night we tried things differently. Before today we have just gone to the bedroom and inseminated she has had an orgasm and then softcup in and watch tv. This time we made love then inseminated, her waiting to orgasm. So I had the syringe ready and when she told me she was ready I squirted it in. I suppose like a man would if you both cum at the same time. Then we way with her bum up for about 45 mins. I put the cup in but she said it wasn't comfy this month so we took it out but it was empty anyway.

Had it all gone up where is should have then???

Today same thing but tried orgasm before insemination and again while syringe was in then I pushed plunger but waited till 20 seconds after it.

Hope this month we have done it right! But she has a cold at the moment which is making her swallowing worse so the stress from that might mean it doesn't take.

We will have to wait and see - this month I also ovulated on the exact same day! If only we had the money to be able to do it at the same time. But imagine trying to look after each out it wouldnt work. I wanna be there for her and her for me.

I've noticed since this whole journey started I have gone from a 31 day cycle to 29 and ovulate 3 days earlier now. How weird is that and my luteal has lengthened to 14 instead of 10-12 days.

Make sure she doesn't stress these two weeks and try relax about it all. Yes everything went up there. If anything comes out now it's just the fluid the sperms in not the actual sperm.

I have been reading your posts on several threads! I wish you guys good luck! Me and my partner are just starting our journey with at home insemination. Everything is so confusing. I don't even really know how to track my ovulation but I am trying to learn.

Well we are 11 dpo and she suspects AF is about to arrive - but until she does then we remain hopeful. Its so tiring and stressful the tww its getting me down now I just want us to have a baby (

I feel like I am living my life in 2 week slots now, nothing else has meaning. I was looking at the cheapo preg test yesterday and I was convincing myself that there was a flipping faint line on it. There wasnt of course.

So I am 99% sure its a bfn for this month... again.

Sometimes we wonder if we are wasting our time, what if there is something wrong with is baby juice? What if there is something wrong with H?? How would we ever know! We could waste months and months and not know. So annoying!

I wish after the AI your body would do something like belly button pop out then you know your pregnant something which meant you didnt have to wait two weeks!!!!!

Futuremombian - track track track!!!! Start tracking the ovulation's so you know when you need your donor. We use the cheap ebay ones backed up by the clearblue ones. Subscribe at amazon and they are much cheaper the clearblue ones.

H's cycles is regular and she ovulates on day 14/15 so once we get near O we use the clearblue but the cheap ones are more sensitive and so show the line getting stronger and stronger. Hence why we use both.

I ovulate on day 18 - so dont go with the whole rule of everyone is day 14 because they are not!

If you have any iPad/iPhone get "My Days" app its fantastic. Use this to track CM, temps, weigh, AF. It's fantastic!! We are currently using this at the moment to track every thing.

For AI we use either 5ml or 10ml syringes from ebay, we also got our specimen cups from ebay too. Oh and conceive plus. But this month we didnt use this other than to coat the inside of the syringe. (I feel it protects the swimmers)

2mums I really feel your pain as this was the case with us. I was ttc for 3 years using 4 different donor in all and still nothing!! Decided to go to my GP and he refered me for fertilty test, has a lap & dye done plus numerous blood tests. While I was having all the test done we decided DW would try, we both planned to carry anyway so was no big issue. She caught on her 3 attempt and we now have a beautiful 9 month old boy. My test results all came back ok so we are going ttc again in the near future with me.

What I'm trying to say in a round about way is maybe get some tests done at the GP's. exaggerate about how long you've be trying an ask to be refered for test. Hope this helps an gives you some hope xx

I have this program on my iPad. Called my days. Entered all my info. Long story cut short, and I don't mean to offend nor say this is the way to go.... My wife n I tried last year n it was very stressful n a bit costly. This year we decided to go the tradional man n female baby making way.... After deciding that financially we would rather use our finances on our baby. N what's the worse that could happen.... I would have an orgasm... We r very secure with our marriage, n wouldn't have decided this way if it wasn't for trust! We chose a family member from my wife's family n we all talked n were in the agreement that the act is only for baby making reasons. Tho we would try not to stress about it, nor fake our way thru. The first few times, was awkward, tho after getting my nerves out, I just kept repeating in my head to let go n have fun, we will only succeed with what we want, if we just let go n have fun. Which is what most of us need to do. Trust I agonized, n stressed about conceiving, so yes I know what every1 is going thru. Also after we were done, my wife who would come back to the location to pick me up), wanted to know details, every detail. (at first in was also awkward), but for her, she mentally put herself in his place, and she felt as if it was her instead of him. And vice versa for me. It took a few tries, n we r happy to announce that we r 14 weeks pregnant. Good luck and baby dust to all!!!

Also the final try, we tried something different. There's a 3-5 day window the week of ur ovulation, sperm lives for 4-7 days in female system. Eggs is only available for 24 hrs. So plan n if possible... Donor should be used 2 days before ovulation, night before ovulation n day of ovulation! Please try this method if at all possible. It worked our final try but 1st try with this method......good luck

Thanks for the reply and all of the helpful tips. I am sorry to hear that you guys may be having a BFN this month I know it can be very stressful. Me and my partner are planning on trying at home for 3-6 months and then going to see a fertility specialist. I have an evaluation with a nurse practitioner on October 30th to go over some test results to make sure I am able to conceive due to me having PCOS. Once I get the green light we are going to start trying. I work in a doctors office so I will be able to access syringes and sterile cups (thank god) trying to cut costs anywhere possible. I went to the drug store and I couldn't believe that the clear blue ovulation kits are 55 dollars for the 20 day kit!!! I almost passed out! I am going to order them online. My period isn't due until the end of the month so I can't start tracking ovulation until then. I already downloaded the "my days" app on my iphone. I am glad I picked a good one!

question -- do you think tracking temperatures helps? I don't understand the science behind it all and am wondering if I can just do it by the ovulation kit?

Hey - the temp helps pin point ovulation so it is worth doing. Just do it same time every day. I have put some Velcro on H's on and stuck it to the wall so she can just pull it off and take her temp with out moving much so we can get an accurate reading.

Defo helped us see this month that the ovualtion was on the same day as the first smiley face!!

We are we think now 1 day late...... Going to test tomorrow if nothing arrives today.Today is going to be the longest day of my life. I've only just got up and I want to go to bed so tomorrow comes faster and we can test!!!
Her luteal is usually 12 days and we are on day 13 now. But once she was 13 days so we will wait. We've been peeing on cheapo tests on and off this last week but they show nothing at all. So I don't know!!!!!!!!!

It takes a few months to get into a pattern of your cycles, we were doing it a tiny bit too late and then a tiny bit to early. got it right and BAM were pregnant.

The day before my period was due the internet cheapy tests were a BFN. The day of my missed period was a BFN on internet one. Then the day after AF was due it was BFP on clear blue digital, but seriously FAINT on the internet cheapy.
Depends how strong your hormone levels are.

As for giving up and thinking something is wrong with your body or the sperm, thats natural.
Doctors tell you it takes on estimate 12 months to conceive, and ask you to look into it after 12 months.

No AF yet - now 14dpo - 2 days late for us!! Clearblue said no (evil thing) but nothing. Bought 4 frer from asda today. If nothing by Monday will test again. Never ever been late so don't understand!!!

What would cervix feel like if pregnant? xx
