Hi everyone.

I recall another member on about when the "bigger" woman starts showing and thought I'd share a little.

Although we are all different, I am a size 16/18 (uk) and I had to go out and buy some maternity trousers because I just couldn't faster my others up. I'm 4 weeks 5 days now. I know it's not just weight gain because I was heavier about 2 months ago and still fit in these jeans so it's deffo my tum.

However, I was on fertility treatment and have the chance of multiples so whether that is the reason I'm not to know for a further few weeks until I have my scan.

Has anyone else had to buy maternity clothes so early?

Thats reassuring then...I don't think I need tops yet as all my tops are rather big since a lost a stone in weight before I got pregnant.

oh no it could be doulbe the trouble, twins are right cute :baby::baby:lol

My Mom says triplets lol. I'll soon find out I'm sure.

I am a size 16 uk and have had 3 children. My jeans felt uncomfortable at 8 weeks. Midwife said it was bloating, slack muscles from previous pregnancies and being overweight. She then gave me a lesson on the uterus still being under the pubic bone and the fetus being the size of a strawberry!!!!!! THanks for that!!! Believe she has now retired. No harm in wearing maternity clothes early, I find them very comfy.

I really looked like I was showing a couple of weeks ago but now I'm going (we think!) into 2nd trimester, I'm back fitting perfectly into my jeans again. I don't feel as pregnant which is a shame but it's funny because when I lie down on my tummy I feel like I have a book in my tummy. It's so uncomfortable! I don't think I'm going to have to get maternity clothes for quite a while...my Mum just got away with buying clothes in a bigger size but I proper want some of those jeans with the comfy stretchy band.... mmm.

Hi everyone,
Well I'm a size 8-10 just by having lucky genes so I've always enjoyed being petite (5ft 2) and never above 8½ stone. I'm approaching 7 weeks and yesterday whilst yawning my way round the shops I found myself pulling my jeans away from my lower abdomen as they were so uncomfortable. I can still fasten them up with no problem, but they are tight when I bend or just wear them for too long. I can't wait to show! I think it'll be a while before I need maternity clothes but my tummy is definitely rounder. I can tell as it's always been so flat. I don't really care what is causing it as the baby is still so small, it just helps me to start to feel something external - other than feeling internally exhausted and queasy!

Well this will be my first. I think most probably is boating but I know it certainly kicked me out of my normal trousers. My tops are fine so I can't see me needing them for some time.

Rachiepachie .... Think that miserable midwife may have forgotton how exciting it is when you find out you are pregnant. You look for any sign that it is not in your imagination!. I wore my maternity trousers after my c-section for several weeks afterwards. Hope you enjoy your pregnancy, its quite an adventure

I must admit that I've done three tests already lol. Just to make sure as it has taken me 4 years to get pregnant.

Today has been the best day in 2 weeks pain wise so I have been able to feel pregnant without the pain. I have the lower back pain dull in the background but the cramps are not really there. It's really strange having the urge to eat certain foods. Hash browns for me.

I'm 'plus size' too and I started wearing maternity clothes at 8 weeks, even though I had LOST 10lbs. I was also on fertility drugs (clomid) and worried about multiples, but at the first scan they only found one and since then we've only found one HB, so...here's hoping for one!

lol, I don't mind twins but I'm not sure I'm prepared for more in one go lol

I don't think i look any bigger yet but I feel it, sure its bloating. I'm a size 16 too but I'm only 4'11" so I'm going to look so ridiculous!

Well I would say it is possible to show so early due to the thickening of the tummy. I feel more bloated, but it isnt the same as actually having a baby bump.. It is a start though, and a great reminder of what is to come.Isnt it so exciting.
x

I'm very very bloated, I just don't fit my jeans anymore. So I HAVE to buy maternity clothes this weekend. :(

My sis thinks I'm having triplets and they were hiding at the ultrasound.. lol

Hi everyone,

i just read somewhere that at 7 weeks our womb is the size of an orange...sounds pretty big to me!! No wonder I?m undoing my top button on occasions!..

I'm a size 8 & have always been very slim.. but now at 5 weeks I appear to be showing already!! BUT as mentioned in 1 of my previous threads my stomach has been sticking out a while now..
DH is actually thinking I might be more than 5 weeks?!

Also I went to see my doc today & all he told me to do was attend the anti natal class next week.. what happends here??
Is the first scan at 3 months or is there one before?

First time round I had to get bigger clothes quite early, not as early as you, but not far off!
