I love Millie and Edie and quite like Gertie. Not a fan of Connie though, sorry.

My thoughts exactly. (However I do like the name Constance which can be the longer version of Connie.)

I really can't believe how many people have responded. I didn't get online yesterday and today looked at 34 replies!

Anyway, thank you again for all your opinions. I do like the idea of being a trail blazer! I'm a big fan of 'old' names. We've got to consider boys names next which we're struggling on, my strong favourite is Percy but a few people have mentioned the willy thing and if they weren't aware of that, thought that the poor mite would have the micky taken out of him anyway! I'm really not sure why... can you ladies enlighten me to your thoughts....

I would suggest Millicent (nn Millie) and Corinne (nn Connie) because both of them are rather young names. They wouldn't necessarily age well. I understand that Bess and Ruby don't have longer forms, but they're also more mature.

Also, Millie and Connie both end with an "ee" sound, just like Ruby. The names don't rhyme but having a similar ending can be confusing. Especially when Bess doesn't have that ending.

I think Gertie and Connie sound a bit dated to my ears so I would go with Millie or Edie. I prefer Millie just a bit more though, it has a really fresh happy feel to it - however, I'm not sure if the alliteration with your last name would bother you. Millie Morton. If it doesn't then go for it! If it does, then I'd go with Edie.

And I know you didn't ask but...I love Evie even more
