My baby is v unsettled in this heat she is feeding more but her nappies are dryer and she's generally miserable won't nap long etc . I was going to wean hee to solids in few weeks but was wondering if anyone is giving water to their babies in this heat ?

I personally would advise against water, despite the heat. Your milk will actually become more "watery" so as to help baby quench their thirst, so just increase the amount of feeding you're doing and you'll be fine.

Bloody clever stuff this milk! :haha:

I second that! More bfing, and drinking lots of water yourself is the best way to go.

I ebf too, and I personally think it's ok to offer LO water at 4+ months in this awful heat, but my baby just wouldn't drink it)) So I make sure that I am well-hydrated.

My lo is super irritable too - it's just too hot for them! I'm irritable as well! I refuse to offer her water as i know my milk is more watery (actually saw this when pumping the other day!) so they get plenty of thirst quenching stuff from us. Just offer the boob more often (on the hottest days last week I offered every hour!) and keep LO lightly dressed and in the shade.

Thanks I've been trying to feed more often she doesn't stay on for long tiredness and heat affecting her feeding I think . Everyone around me keeps telling me to give her water ! Ill keep feeding her more then see how it goes I've given few table spoons water but it dribbles out her mouth
