I hope someone has some advice cause I am getting really worried. In the last few days my younger twin has started to refuse his bottle. Sometimes we have to resort to dreamfeeding him during naps and in the evening/night to get food in him, other times he will accept the bottle but only have 100ml of the 180/210ml that he used to drink. When we try to put the bottle back in his mouth he keeps pushing it out with his tongue and if we insist he starts first to try to evade the bottle and then starts crying :(. He was never BF so it isn't that he is missing the boob either. The milk is heated to the same temperature as always which is about body temp. Has this happened to anyone else and what can I do? Please help :flower:

My LO got like that and we found out yesterday he is dairy intolerant. Is he a fussy baby or squirmy during feeds or in his sleep?

Thank you for responding :) No he is an extremely calm, relaxed and smiley baby on the whole but he does squirm when he wants to avoid the teat :(

Hi, my 3 month old has just started to do this too, he's always been a really great eater up until the last couple of days, now he'll take 3-4oz and then I burp him, once I've done this he then screams if I try to put the bottle near him and he's straining to sit up, I really don't know what to do, sometimes he's great and will take the whole bottle but it's getting harder and harder. I really don't know what to do. He's still sleeping and napping great and happy the rest of the time, it's really starting to stress me out too :shrug:. Any advice would be appreciated.

My LO was doing exactly the same, happy and smiley until it came to food time then he screamed the house down!

I moved his feed back from 3 hours to 4 hours and changed his teat to the fast flow (avent size 4) and he's gone from fighting the bottle and only taking 3/4 oz in about 40 minutes to taking a full 7oz with no fuss.

Might be worth changing teats and see if this helps you at all?

My 3.5 month old has started to fight his bottles too - we've just changed the teat size, hopefully that will help. Did you find that changing the teat worked pretty quickly or did it take a while for your LOs to get used to the change? My LO also suffers from reflux, so I wonder if it might be contributing as well. Poor old sausage :(

I changed the teats Friday and I'd say it's been today I've seen a sudden change in his feeding. He was still fighting a few yesterday, and sucking a bit hard so he kept choking at times.

Today he's taken all his feeds with no issues :)

Ok, I'll stick with it :) He's always struggled with feeding really, and seems to dribble way more milk out with the bigger teats, but I'm hoping it's just going to take a little while for him to get the hang of it. Roll on 6 months and weaning!! :p

Hear hear! We tried different teats but faster ones make him choke. We bought some of those tiny ready made Aptamil 1st milk bottles with screw on teats that you can get in the hospital and in larger supermarkets and he still refused. He ate eventually in the car on the way home from his grans, the odd lil baby. On the whole our best bet is dreamfeeds still. I am so hoping this is just a phase :/
