My 4 month old is still waking up once (usually at 2am) to eat. I thought by now he'd be sleeping through the night. I try to get him really full when I put him down and gave up on the 'dream feeds." His last feed is usually around 7:30-8:00pm and then I put him down. But without fail, he wakes up at 2pm to eat every night. SIGH...

Anyone else having this issue?

My 10 month old still wakes up in the middle of the night to feed...at least 1-2 times a night....

Mine didn't start consistently sleeping through the night until 5 months or so. Your baby is still so tiny, he is probably still hungry in the middle of the night. I know, it seems like everyone's baby sleeps through the night but yours.

Hang in there, get another cup of coffee, and before you know it he will be sleeping all night.

My son did this until around 6 months. Hang in there! I swear sleep deprivation is worse than labor!

Harrison still wakes up 2-3 times a night for feeds. I don't think it's that unusual to be honest  I guess sleepless nights are what we signed up for when we wanted to become mummies ;)

XxX

Thanks ladies, I get tired of reading posts or talking to women that say, "...my baby has slept 10-12 hours a night since 8 weeks..." UGH!!

For the longest time, he was waking up b/c he hated to be swaddled. I guess it'll always be something, right?

if it helps my LO did sleep through the night but has now started waking up for a 3am feed but refuses to eat more during the day

4-month olds should be capable of sleeping 6 hours (according to my favorite book on babies). So it sounds like your baby is exactly where he needs to be. I understand your frustration, my LO is 3 months old and a week ago she slept NINE hours two nights in a row... :cloud9:... I thought all my prayers had been answered.. then she went back to waking up every 2, 3 or 4 hours.. sigh

I think that is very normal. Mine didn't sleep through the nite without feeds until about 6 months. He is still very young and no matter how full he is before bed he might just be waking up just because. I honestly would stop all the tricks to get him to STTN. I did those and nearly drove myself crazy!!! :haha::haha:

Lol! My Lo didn't sleep thur the night til we wean at 14mos I think it would be abnormal for a 4mo to be sleeping thur.

I agree ^^
I think it's normal at that age to still wake up. My LO still dos and I'm not worried or anything

Ashley used to go until 2am without a feed, it was bliss! For the past few weeks he's gone back to feeding every 3 hours and after his 2-3 am feed he'll wake up every 1-2 hours for his dummy. So I think it's normal for a 4 month old not to be sttn!

|I thought we had her sttn but its very random when she does, most nights up just once and that's usually at 3am, its tough I know:hugs:

Oh and I agree sleep deprivation is much worse than labour!

Yep mine wakes up 2 or 3 times still. I don't think it's unusual for a 4 month old to wake up for feeds. I know what you mean though - seems like EVERYONE I talk to at the children's centre has a LO who slept through the night from about 8 weeks!! xx

My lo is 10 month old and still wakes up at night lol
Welcome to motherhood

I think it's misleading because some mums count it as sttn if their babies wake for a feed but go back to sleep straight after, I've encountered a couple like that.

My son didn't sleep through the night til he was over 10 months hun so i'd say its completely normal.

It's normal unfortunately

My LO still wakes many times at night, sometimes for feeds, sometimes just because

At 4 months he was still feeding 2-hourly round the clock :coffee:
