I am 5'6" tall and weigh 157 pounds.TBH,I dont look big or plump, but a little supple, thats all!I admit having a little tummy that pops out ,but certainly not when I am dressed. My doc says she's not going to treat me unless I've lost at least 7 pounds.I had no weapon with me then and I returned wounded.
I haven't lost a teaspoon fat after the last encounter with her.She says,I'm likely to have subtle PCOS.I swear I ovulate, have regular cycles and have no hairy issues. She said overweight women tend to have more miscarriages because of insulin resistance, hyperinsulinemia and its negative effect on progesterone.I don't want to starve and upset my cycles.Any thoughts?
I'm really confused. Of course I don't know your frame or muscle mass or anything, but 157lbs at 5'6" sounds like it could be a very healthy weight to me.

Granted, I have quite a bit of muscle and a decent sized frame, but I'm 5'4" and 150 is my goal weight after baby is born.
You do not have to starve to lose weight. And actually, "starving" slows your metabolism so you'd really be working against yourself and your goals by eating too little. I lost 80 pounds in 12 months last year counting calories (and eating a healthy amount -- 1200 NET calories/day which ended up being about 1500-1600 calories most days). I used the website
www.myfitnesspal.com to track my food and for the support of other people going through the same thing (I should really get endorsements for how much I recommend that website
![haha :haha: :haha:](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/haha.gif)
). I still use the website to track my calorie intake so I don't let my weight get out of control while I'm pregnant.
I think I'd switch docs if I were you. Weight can certainly affect a lot of things in terms of health and certainly does affect everyone differently; but I fail to see how 7 pounds is going to make much of a difference.
Anyway, if you do want to lose those 7 pounds, count calories, eat
plenty of healthy nutrition-rich foods (I recommend tracking your food intake to be sure you're eating
enough), exercise, and expect to lose the weight very very slowly (7-14 weeks?). You don't have much to lose, so it'll probably take a while. Don't be discouraged -- eating healthy & exercising can't be bad for you!
Sorry so long. Weight loss & a healthy lifestyle are subjects I've really invested a lot of time and effort into for the last 16 months.
