Hello there i'm new to this and have been plucking up the courage to post some thing!

its just a small worry really, its my first pregnancy and I’m 5+3 weeks, ive been getting cramps witch, judging by the rest of you is normal but i have a constant ache down my left side just under the ribs, and my shoulder hurts occasionally (comes and goes) i have been to see my doc and he was a bit rubbish and didn’t help, i would like to know is this normal or is it a sign of an ectopic?? ahhhh!!!! thanks x

I would get a second doctor, and actually say that you are concerned about an ectopic pregnancy. They'll send you for a scan to cover there own backs, if not to put your mind at rest ( sounds crappy, but true ).

I hope everythings ok, keep us posted.

:hugs:

I would get a second opinion as well, if for nothing else than your own peace of mind. good luck and welcome to the forum!

I have experienced loadsa weird aches and pains during my pregnancy so far!!! I have also been referred for ultra sound scans and they were all fine!
How bad are the pains???
If they are unbearable i would seek a second opinion but it's probably very normal.
Try not to worry, I know easier said then done.
xxx:hugs:

I agree, if you are concerned do see another doctor.

With this pregnancy, some things are happening that I never had with other pregnancies. I was taking a load out of the dryer and had this pain start from my butt right down my left leg. It lasted 4 days. The other day I was trying to vacuum and was bending down and the next day I had a very sore muscle on the front of my left leg. Goodness, I've done these things before and never got sore muscles.

I've also had many aches in my pelvis area.

Could be that you did something causing you pain in your shoulder and that the aches you feel are stretching pains.

Still, ease your mind and do get a second opinion :hugs:

Welcome to the forum!

I'd definitely get a second opinion, just to put your mind at rest. I read that we're more likely to pull our muscles during this trimester, so it could be that you've pulled your shoulder, but to be on the safe side, I'd ask for a scan. Also, ask for your bloods to be done again, because they don't increase as rapidly in an ectopic pregnancy.

Hope you feel better soon, and this is just a normal strange preggers ache!

I had intermitent bit severe sharp pains on one side over the past few days (they've actually gona off now fx) while we were away on holiday for a few days. NHS Direct told us to go to A&E as we couldnt got to my GP. The staff at the hospital were wonderful. I told them I was worried about EP at the pain was to one side and in the same place. They did bloods and an internal ultra sound and said that everything looks perfect! just waiting on some swab results now to check if its a urine infection or something. I felt much better so my advice is see someone else or be more forceful with your Dr.
Good luck! x

Thank you so, so much for all your replies! I have just phoned the doc to get a second opinion and hopefully he can book me in for a scan, who’d have thought this would be sooo stressful! Thanks again x

You're more than welcome.... keep'em comin' !!! :)
