Can I just complain for a second in here?
Had my first baby, gained 18 lb during pregnancy because I kept fit and healthy eating habits, lost all the weight and looked like a hot sexy beast within 10 days of giving birth.
Got prego again when my daughter was 10 months, this time my body was different. I maintained the same healthy eating habits and exercise (plus chased after a toddler), and I gained twice as much weight. I gave birth and the first week after that, I lost 8 lbs, but then gained it back and then some. So I have been above my highest pregnancy weight!
Ok so after the baby I know I haven't been eating the best, but it is so hard with a 19 month old and a newborn. You tend to grab what is quick and easy. But I figured ok, I will just be at this weight (and mega depressed about my appearance) until I am done nursing and then go on a diet. I have been too afraid to really diet because BF is really important to me, and I was afraid of what would happen to my supply. Trust me I have felt so completely low about my looks, but I try to put my son's needs first.
Now he is 5 months old, and just the other day, I see a friggin factory of stretch marks forming on my body, everywhere. I just wanted to cry. I know in the grand scheme of life, stretch marks don't matter. But come on, who gets them while they are BF?!? Plus carrying around the extra weight is giving me aches and pains in my knees and back. Plus I gain weight in bad places, not proportionally. I look like a cylinder. Yeah I gain weight in my neck, back, and lovehandles. Who gains weight in their neck? oh I do.
So anyways, I decided to try to lose weight while BF. I am just limiting to 1800 calories per day, and going on walks, and doing yoga classes. I pray my supply stays good for my son. This is day 3 of my diet.
Anyone have experiences to share on losing weight by limiting calories while BF?
If I see a dip in supply, I will increase my calories to make sure it is enough for my son. If I just start eating more, is it easy for a supply to bounce back?
Well any experiences or support would be appreciated. Thanks ladies.
