6 Days late with BPN

Well I took a blood test today and it came out negative. Is there any way that could be a false negative? Or am I still hoping too much?

I really thought I was pregnant this month, had symptoms and was 14 days late, but blood test came back negative.

Think I just skipped a period because and missed ovulation as that wasn't on my radar! Took an ovulation test when I got the negative result and there was a strong line (not as strong or stronger than control though) so think I just missed ovulation or potentially just caught it! Explains why my boobs hurt!!
