so Aliyah is nearly 6 weeks now..shes in no feeding routine what so ever!
i make her a 5oz bottle because she sometimes drinks the 4 ozs and still wants more but thats very rare ..she tends to wake up screaming and nothingg will stop her except a bottle so i make a fresh 5oz feed..she will drink 2 ounces and fall asleep! ifi do manage to wake her up she wont take anymore! then about 30mins later shes up again screamin for more?! so i give her the same bottle and she might finish an ounce and do the same thing so by the time shes actually finished her 5oz bottle shes due her next one so im like feeding all day and shes not settling properly because shes not taking the full amount?

anyone elsehave this problem?i dunno what to do x

Could she have reflux? Nolan suffers from silent reflux and it helps him to take smaller feedings more frequently through out the day.

Have you tried winding her when she falls asleep? Sophie quite often used to fall asleep with the bottle in her mouth and when I took it out there was no resistance...then if I winded her she would often do one or two big burps, wake up properly and start feeding again. She still does that now and again but is much better now.

You've probably already tried that but just thought I'd suggest it just in case...

I know this sounds mean but maybe you should hold off on a feed for as long as you can (atleast 3 hours) to get her nice and hungry so she will eat the full 4 ounces all at once? Then she will be full for longer and maybe you can start a routine that same day, hold off for as long as possible till the 3 hours is up again.. etc. I dunno if you've already tried that but it sounds like she is just taking some "snack" feedings instead of full feedings which you really dont want to happen. I read about this in one of my baby books. Anyways I'm new to formula feeding but I hope it works out for you hun. xx

my 6 week old son is the same hes feeding every 2 hours 6 oz !! sometimes he doesnt finish the full feed by the time ive fed him and winded him and changed him i have to feed him again.im considering trying him on hungry babymilk in the hope that he will have a good feed last 3 hours and be content then i can get some sort of routine going.goodluck x

My son is going on 13 weeks and has no feeding routine. I admit FF on demand (he snacks a lot) is very time consuming but it works for me. If you want to get her onto more of a routine, Suzy Giordano talks about distractions to work towards 4 basic feed times (ie 7am,11am,3pm,7pm), it seems to not be a bad idea. You can google her book if interested.

ahh thanks alot girls:D
i have switched over to hungry milk now and she seems to be a little bit better on that..
her routine in the evening has become alot better (Waking up every 3hrs ish)
but in the day shes just snacking as someone else said..even tho i do obv give her the bottle when shes screamingg but i am trying to long it out as much as i can ..
and its really strange..winding actually sends her to sleep lol x

me too lol !! i must agree, lucas is managing to stretch to about 3 hours now its just a case of learinig his signals now. so in a 3 hour stretch i aim to feed,change,play/talk to/sing and sleep im hoping buy doingall of this this i can keep him contented lol
