I am 5 weeks and 5 days pregnant with my third child and this afternoon after I went to the restroom I had quite a bit of dark brown discharge/blood when I wiped. I have never had this before with either of my other pregnancies and am very concerned that it is a sign that I am going to miscarry. I haven't had any other symptoms and no other real discharge other than that one time. Maybe a SLIGHT bit of pink but that is it. Does anyone have any experience with this? I called my doctor and they made an appointment for me on Wednesday, but I don't know how I am going to make it until then worrying. :nope:

Awe hun, I know what you're going through. I am almost 15 weeks pregnant & I have been spotting since 10 weeks. There are times the spotting is...bleeding. Are you experiencing cramping also? Try to take a few deep breaths & relax (easier said than done, this I know). Anyway, my little bean is healthy so don't get down yet! If you have on and off spotting like I have been....get a doppler for your own peace of mind! I got the sonoline B & it works GREAT. Thinking of you! XOXO

I had that around the same time this pregnancy. But it happened after I had sex. I woke up the next morning with brown blood, and continued to have brown discharge for at least a week after that, I didn't have any cramping. But I was so worried I had lost my baby, in fact, at the ER, they pretty much told me that I DID, but 3 or 4 days later I went to my scheduled appointment and seen my baby and it's beautiful heartbeat! I'm now 35 weeks pregnant, and haven't had problems since! As long as the blood isn't BRIGHT RED, really heavy, and you're not cramping try not to worry! Some people just spot during their pregnancies!

Dont worry hon, I had this throughout week 6, it has gone now. It is very common in week 6 as the baby 'beds in'. I had a scan last week because of the bleeding (I have also had a previous mc at 9 weeks) and all looks fine so far. However it is good to get it checked out - brown bleeding over the course of several weeks was how my mc happened last time, however the baby was always measuring 2 weeks behind that time.

Thank you all so much for sharing your experiences and advice. I am trying to remain calm (not the easiest thing) and just take it easy until my doctor's apt tomorrow (also not easy with 2 other kids). I haven't had any more bleeding. Just a slight tinge of pink late last night, so I am hoping that it was just a fluke the lil bean settling in for the long haul. I will keep you updated after my doctor's apt tomorrow.

Hope I can manage to distract myself pretty well today.

Keep us updated, I will be sending good vibes your way tomorrow! It always helps having someone care & understand. Seeing blood when you're pregnant will literally make your heart drop & nobody really understands! XO

So, I had my doctor's apt this morning and they did a vaginal sonogram. They weren't able to see a heartbeat and the sac was measuring 5w1d (I am 6w0d). They also are running some blood tests to check my levels, but we won't get those results until sometime tomorrow. She also wants me to get more blood work done on Friday so they can see if there is any change in my levels. Honestly, I am not feeling very optimistic. :(

Could you have ovulated later than you thought? I spotted with two bad red bleeds for the first ten weeks with my son who is now five months!

I don't think I could have. Or if I did I don't think I could have gotten pregnant. We BDed 4-5 days before I ovulated as it is. If I ovulated later than that I don't think I would have gotten pregnant at all.

So... after jumping every time my phone rang all day and NOT getting a call, I called them. My levels are exactly where they should be for this far along in the pregnancy! YAY! Naturally this is a HUGE relief! I am still getting additional blood drawn tomorrow so that they can make sure the numbers are going up and not down/staying the same, but I am choosing to be optimistic! I feel like if the baby had passed my levels would probably have been much lower than they are. So, while I suppose I am not 100% out of the woods I am truly feeling like everything is going to be okay. :happydance:

Thank you all so much for your kind words and thoughts.

Omg hun, yayy!!!! How did everything turn out?!?

Xo
