Hi All! I'm hoping you can advise a bit. I have fairly regular cycles but often spot a lot before AF comes. After about 8 mos of TTC, I recently found out that I'm not ovulating. my dr. said that the excess spotting is due to my NOT ovulating. Thus I was put on Clomid. Last month was my first try on clomid, and i DID ovulate. According to my CD21 tests I "ovulated well" said my dr. I then went on to spot for a full 7 days before AF arrived. I was so discouraged because I thought if I ovulated I wouldn't have the spotting. My dr. hasn't mentioned anything about progesterone but could all that spotting be due to low progestrone? What can I do to fix it?
thanks in advance gals. I'm a lurker more often than I post but have learned so much from you all and found lost of reassurance during these months of trying.

hi StinaLeigh....I too have spotting b4 af arrives & it really gets me down!! Its usually up to 4 days b4, but this mth it was only 2, im on my 2nd cycle of clomid now so i do not know if the clomid made it shorter?? What were your day 21 blood results?? did you have follicular tracking on ur first cycle of clomid? I heard on here if you suffer from spotting then vit b complex could help...so i have been taking 50mg all through this cycle....due on next thurs so will see if i get my usual spotting b4 and will let u know! alot of the ladies say it helps with leutal phase defects too.....do you know what yours was this mth?? it is the amount of days from when you ovulate up to af arriving. I spoke to my fs about it & asked if i should count from ovulation to the day i get spotting & she said no, up to when full red flow arrives. i asked her could my progesterone levels be dropping too low too quickly after i ovulate which is causing the spotting & she said no.....she asked if my lining had been looked at when i had my follicular tracking & i said yes & all fine. she said not to worry & to carry on with the clomid. Dont really know what to feel or do, kinda feel like she is parming me off & not giving me answers.....i have booked myself in to see another gyno next tues who specialises in endo, its private & costing £140 just to speak to him!! but i need answers!! as i have symptoms of endo, even my doc suggests i have a lap done but cant refer me, apparently my fs has to..but she wont listen to me!! agghh!! hoping this other gyno can give me some answers regarding the spotting & go through all my test results ive had done this year & give me advise about the endo. I would def try the vit b complex & see if it helps with the spotting tho....have heard many success stories on here xx

thanks for the advice on vitB complex. i'll give it a try. i typically do have a short luteal phase (around 10 days) with the first round of clomid it was 11days (but I spotted for 5 days of that time). My dr. doesn't seem concerned about my luteal phase length but everything I read makes it seem like that's a bit short...
I don't know the exact results of my CD21 test only that I "ovulated well" and had "high levels". I'm not really sure what that means! My Dr. doesn't seem concerned about the spotting.
Sorry about all the frustration with your dr. I don't know much about endo I'll have to research it. Hopefully the new gyno will get you on a good track and you'll get your bfp soon! Please do keep me posted about your spotting this month.

I'm assuming that your progesterone levels are fine. Your cd21 tests had "high levels" and that includes your progesterone. I'm no expert but I think thats what those bloods test for. Keepin my fingers crossed for you!!
