I'm hoping to hear some success stories of pregnancies that started out with a low heart rate. I had a follow up ultrasound today after an ultrasound last week showed no heartbeat. Today at what should be 7.1 weeks they dated me at 6.1 and a heart rate of 65bpm. I am going back in on Thursday as I have an amazing doctor that knows how anxious I am. Dr Google says it could go either way and I have prepared myself for the worst but need a little hope to get through the next couple of days.

Hey sweetV so glad iv seen this post (I rarely check this part of forum as always on first trimester)
I was in this situation a few weeks ago. Worried myself sick, spent hours searching the net for statistics and success stories etc etc.
Iv had 2 miscarriages in last year so went for early scan at 7+3! I had purposely waited until then thinking it would give me definite reassurance rather than go at 6 weeks and maybe see a heartbeat/maybe not!
Anyway...saw baby but heart rate was 80bpm or less! I knew this was low and questioned it straight away but my OB kept saying well it's early!
Went home, found medical articles quoting upto 100%miscarriage rate if heartbeat was below 100 at 6 weeks....so I was thinking well I'm 7+3 and well below that. I called my OB on a panic and he kept sayin but it's early and some hearts take longer to pick up than others! (Bit of a language barrier too so didn't feel too reassured!)
Went the next week and it had picked up, went yesterday at 12 weeks and baby was wriggling around!!!
Look iv had it go both ways but I just want you to know that what has happened to you can be normal!!! I'm from a Medical science background and have always had great faith/appreciation for medical journals/stats etc but somehow they didn't apply to me!
Almost impossible I know but don't lose hope! There is hope!!! A greater reassurance is my OB was not the least bit worried! He has delivered 8.5 thousand babies!!! If he said it can be normal then I should have trusted him and saved myself a week of worry!
Good luck, feel free to message me if you have any questions .

Thank you that is exactly what I needed. My OB said to remain neutral as she has seen it go both ways. She said to mentally prepare myself that I could come back and see no heartbeat and that seems to be what my research has said (100% if under at 6 weeks). She also said she has seen 1000's of cases where they come back and everything is perfect. I've had a stillbirth and a miscarriage this year and would really like to be in your situation. Thank you so so much for the hope!!
