7w4d measuring 6w4d and NO HEARTBEAT! :( So stressed!

Sooo I went in for my first doc appt today and I had a great doctor. He was funny, sympathetic and seems to truly care...So after my exam I told him I was having off/on cramping, no bleeding/spotting so he had the U/S tech do an ultrasound. After that, he told me that according to my LMP I am 7 weeks 4 days but I am measuring at 6 weeks and some days instead. He said baby is definitely there, fetal pole, gestational sac, yolk sac ALL THERE BUT NO HEARTBEAT!... He said I am in the range I should be in and he took blood for a Beta test or something? I guess to check my HCG levels? I go back friday to check again....I am BESIDE MYSELF and pretty much counted myself out...My dear OH keeps trying to keep me positive but its easier said than done. This baby is so very wanted and after a m/c 10 years ago it still haunts me. Anyone been through this?

I am just feeling defeated and disappointed..Can't sleep tonight..

Hey hun,

Try not to beat yourself up, easier said than done I know.

It may just be your dates are a little off. I think it's pretty normal not to see a heart beat at 6 weeks, I was told this during my last pregnancy (which I did lose unfortunately, but I did have bleeding)

You may have ovulated later than you thought, this is quite common! If you are only in week 6 then you may not see a heartbeat yet!

Its common to be a week later than lmp... For my baby girl my due date based on LMP would've been july 12th but when they did the first ultrasound it dated me a week behind and due date was pushed back to july 17th.

With both my sons, they didnt have HBs until their second scans at 7 weeks. And my fire son measured 1.5 weeks behind what I thought. Which means I got a blaring positive on his test at three weeks! But he is a happy healthy four year old now.

I stressed for 9 days about something similar, so I won't tell you not to stress yourself out! It's impossible, right?

Like the ladies said, you could very well be off a week. I went in at 6+1 and they saw nothing but a gestational sac (no yolk sac, no fetal pole), my OB prepared me for the worst and had me come back for another us at 7+3, and there was everything plus a HB! So I guess I just want you to find some comfort in that it is very possible to go back next week and see the baby's HB. At your stage, 1 week can make a big difference!

Unless you know for sure you ovulated on day 14 of your cycle by temping your LMP date could very well be off. This is even more likely if your cycle is irregular or usually longer that 28 days so don't worry about that.

My docotor said that they only expect to see the heartbeat closer to 8 weeks though it could happen earlier sometimes.

I actually had this happen to me, but I was supposed to be almost 9 weeks! I went in for my first appointment and a scan.. the tech couldn't even see an embryo. She said that I must be barely 6 weeks. I thought for sure that it was a miscarriage, but I went in a week later and everything was there. I must have just ovulated/or implanted MUCH later than normal. It also depends on the equipment used as well.
I went to several different doctors when I was pregnant with my DS and had multiple scans and the quality of the equipment used makes a HUGE difference as to how much you can see in there!

I saw a heartbeat with our LO at 5+6, but it's completely normal not to see it until 7 weeks! Don't stress, if you're not bleeding, things should be OK!

You ladies are AMAZING and to be totally honest my bad thoughts have subsided! I have light cramping that comes and goes but other than that NO blood whatsoever (I keep checking every time I go to the bathroom, which is alot lol) I had irregular cycles before I started BCP and I am guessing when I stopped using them it returned back to irregular. I definitely am not regular to the point to where I ovulate exactly on day 14th or anything like that. I believe I ovulated on Oct 21/22 but not too sure...LMP was October 7th. I am keeping my head held high, this baby is so very much wanted! I go in next Thursday which is exactly a week from today to get another U/S done...I go in tomorrow to get my numbers checked again but won't know if they doubled/tripled until Monday I believe. Thank all of you beautiful strong ladies for your words of encouragement and love. I feel truly blessed to be even at this stage ( I didn't even think I could have children, I was with my ex for 6 years and it never happened) so I mean for them to see the baby, fetal pole, yolk sac and gestational sac I would say that should be enough to keep me positive! Oh I know exactly what you are going through... I went in a little over a week ago expecting to be about 7.5 weeks... But was measuring 6 weeks 4 days 6.7mm with no heartbeat... I was crushed the doctor prepared me for the worst but said maybe just maybe we were too early.. I am scheduled for a follow up appointment today at 230pm and really praying for some good news this last week and a half has been so hard but I just tried to stay positive about it... No bleeding.. Still have nausea and sore boobs and some cramping and an increase in white cm again... So I am really hopeful and nervous at the same time. Oh honey thank you so much! It is so refreshing to hear that I am not alone. It is going to KILL me waiting one more week. oh nooooo!! hang onto hope! I had so many friends telling me they didn't see one until late in 7 weeks some 8 and even one friend said 9 weeks and she was on the verge of getting a d&c done due to the doc suggestion...thank god she didn't! thanks honey, i went in today and the lady said my numbers were high so i had to give blood again and will know on monday what they are
