I put my son in his crib for a nap, the railing has always been on the lowest setting as I'm short and can't reach down when it's up. He hasn't mastered pulling up to my knowledge but apparently he learned how to pull up on his crib.
I had the baby monitor with me but I wasn't paying much attention to it until I heard a loud thud and crying and looked and he wasn't in his crib. So I rushed upstairs and he was on the floor.

I started freaking out and called my husband as he has our car and told him what happened. He told me to just watch out for signs of a concussion.
My son calmed down after a minute of me comforting him, and he is acting completely normal, playing and crawling around. He spit up a little bit but that's normal for him. As I didn't see him fall I have no idea where he hit or what he hit on the way down, he was on his back when I got to him. I've checked his head for bumps and nothing at the moment. His pupils are normal, and over all seems fine. Should I be on the look out for anything specific?? I read to watch him for the next 48 hours, and I'm thinking of just letting him sleep with us so I can make sure he wakes up.

I'm just really freaking out right now, and normally I'd rush him straight to the ER. But from what I read, as long as he's being normal then it's not necessary.

I'm so sorry, how scary and stressful! If he is acting fine I don't think you need to go to the ER. If it would ease your mind, I might put a call into the pediatrician just so they are aware. Things to watch for over the next day: lethargy, not acting like himself, difficulty focusing his eyes, pupils unequal or abnormal eye movements, and vomiting. If he has any of the above he needs to be seen right away. But from the type of fall you described, I highly doubt he will develop any problems. I'm sure everything will be OK! Don't beat yourself up, accidents happen. Kids are so resilient!

Im sure he is fine! Babies and toddlers are very resilient! Must have given you a fright though :hugs:

Also, I would absolutely lower the cot. Maybe get a little step for yourself so you can lower him in. Since he has done it once it will probably happen again. I cant imagine my 8 month old being kn amything but the lowest setting (she is a monkey.)

Thank you!!! He is still acting normal, super smiley and giggly. He hasn't lost his appetite and he took a nap in his swing earlier with me watching over him to make sure he'd wake up hah. And yes, before he goes to bed we are rising the side and lowering the bed. I do not want to chance him doing that again.
Still no bumps or bruises that I can see, and over all normal. So I think we are going to be okay. It's just so scary. I think I cried more than he did haha.

Glad he is doing OK! Always so much scarier for the mamas!
