Im at my wits end! My 8 month old not never much cared for his formula and before he went onto solids it was hard to get enough milk into him. He's been on solids for about 2 months and took to them really well and has puddings after meals and was on about 18oz of milk a day - now he has stopped accepting a bottle! He will scream and scream and prefer to have anything in his mouth than a bottle teat - he won't hold it himself or use a beaker. It's got to the point that as well as giving him milky food and puddings in having to sort of dreamfeed him his 3 daily bottles as he otherwise wont take them :( very confused and starting to worry as yesterday he has become even more stubborn! What should I do? Is it worth a HV call or will he stop doing this? Any ideas v grateful ! Xx

Do you think your LO would take it out of a Doidy Cup?

Honestly I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often as formula does NOT taste good! One would think once they get a taste of "normal" foods- they would prefer that over the bottle. But they must just be used enough to it by then.

I would try not to worry too much hun. If you want reassurance or better advise I'd for sure contact your babies doctor. Long as your LO is eating proper meals- he could be perfectly OK getting the nutrients he needs. Does he take supplements? Our LO has been on them since 6mos per pediatrician recommendation- even with formula and other foods being introduced. Not sure there are other formula type options that might give better nutrients or not (?)- something your LO may take too over his normal formula?

Otherwise he might just want a bigger boy cup? Maybe try offering in sippy cup age appropriate?

Sorry I've no great advise... best of luck!

maybe try uping his calcium intake. I give my LO soft cheese & yogurts almost every meal and finger foods are mainly toast/bread & cheese. If hes getting plenty of calcium & enough protein i wouldnt worry too much as he will be getting his other nutrients from his solid foods. as mentioned above though, a vitamin suppliment might be beneficial.
