Hi, my lo is 8 months and her milk intake seems to be dropping.

She has about 7oz in the morning then probably an ounce at lunch and about 5oz in the evening.

She seems to be doing fine on this as she's eating well; she has three meals a day.

I just wondered if the milk intake begins to drop about now as I had read they're meant to have up to 23oz but she very rarely has that much in a day.

I'd appreciate your advice.

Thanks.

Hi hun. 18-21 oz is what she needs at this age with her solids. If she takes less u can offer her more dairy (yoghurt & cheese) or add some formula to her solids.

Since Omar was 6.5 mnths he takes between 10-15 oz & he might go for 18 in a good day. xx

ahhh thanks for the reply; that's achieveable. I was beginning to worry when she wouldn't get anywhere near 23oz.

She gets petit filous and cheese quite a bit so she's getting some good stuff from there :) plus I do try and sneak her formula into weetabix or some veg mix, but I do like her to get the full flavour of her veg as well.

I reckon we can just about manage 15oz to 18oz.

Thanks for the reply; makes me feel a lot better.

We also moved to follow on formula at 7.5 mnths as it has more vitamins & iron. Omar is not a big eater or drinker & it made a difference as he liked it more than his old formula. I think it's sweeter than stage 1 formula. xx

Emma was having about 24oz a day but she seems to be losing interest lately. nmwb78 is right though, 18-21oz is the target but if she's doing fine on less then just give her dairy!!

Alyssa was like that about a month ago, then her evening one dropped. So ive taken away the lunchtime bottle so she just has morning and eve. Shes on 10oz a day now but eats like a monster !! Spoke to HV (2 infact) and they said as well as dairy, if they are having a varied diet there is nothing to worry about :) x
