8 months of no sleep has made me really bitter!

Hun I feel your exhaustion. Ive not slept a good nights sleep since I was about 7 months pregnant. Oliver is a dreadful sleeper and I could go insane.

Do you know what my fantasy is? A full nights sleep in a travelodge. Nothing posh just a full bloody nights sleep. I even get jealous of those on Big Brother lying there in their beds. And if one more person says to me "oh gosh he should well be sleeping through the night now I might just kill them.

You're not alone hun, I think we've all been there at some point. :hugs:

I am the same!

Someone at work today was saying 'I'm so tired, I woke up at 5 and couldn't get back to sleep.' I actually felt myself seething and I soooooo felt like saying, 'yes, I was up at 5 too. Oh and half 11, 2 and 4 as well!!!!'.

I feel your pain. It gets harder and harder to read posts from ladies who's babies are sleeping 7-12 hour blocks of sleep at night at 7 weeks old when I'm happy if I get a 4 hour block at 6 months old and that's a big if.

You're not alone, i too am very guilty of "You're tired?! YOU'RE TIRED?! NO! I AM TIRED!" :haha:

OH and i joke that in our house it becomes a bit of a competition- who has the "right" to be tired? OH working full time nights or me working part-time days but on "night duty" with Toby
He says "I am not saying i am MORE tired than you, just that I AM TIRED FULL STOP" but when i am in a certain mood, as far as i am concerned only one person is allowed to be tired and that is ME!

Childless friends who are "tired" or "busy" bug the crap out of me. I don't so much mind pregnant friends who are tired because i remember how genuinely knackered i felt at times, and also because i remember how annoying it was when people would say "Just wait until baby gets here then you'll be tired!" (Argh, shut up!) :haha:

We do this! How awful is that lol - OH works 9-5 and travels for 2 hours, I look after a teething baby all day and we take it in turns during the night so who deserves to say they're tired lol! When he was very small we used to count how many hours sleep eachother had had and have big rows like ''you've had 20 minites more sleep than me so you have him and I'm going to bed!!'' Its terrible really but the things you do when you're exhausted.
xx

Me too, I really want to punch my hubbys face in when he stays downstairs having a few beers comes to bed at 1am then sleeps through lo waking several times and has the nerve to say the next day he is tired.... Grrrrr

One of my friends on facebook was complaining she ONLY had 6 hours sleep, i would give anything for a full 6 hours straight sleep so I told her so lol x

OOoo thank goodness im not the only one, I always complain at my OH when he comes to bed really late and then falls straight to sleep and sleeps through LO waking!!! No fair!!!

Oh no, you're back at work. That must be even harder :hugs: I start back 3 weeks today!

I'm exactly the same! Someone I know put on facebook this morning that their 2 week old baby sleeps 11pm-6am. I am so jealous!! I'm trying to be pleased for her but I haven't managed it yet. I am officially a horrible person!

Oh and Vicky, with the twins, I feel for you! You must really get annoyed at people like me moaning when I only have one!!

I get a good 8 hours every night and am still always tired as he is such a hand full during the day I have no idea how you guys cope. I would have killed someone by now if I were you! Big hugs! :hugs:

the SIL always does that and it drives me mad she only started saying "im tired" when i got pregnant and still says it

NOOOO I dont actually for two reasons

1 - you WILL do it alll over again this is it for me and I get two for one period of total exhaustion

and the most important

2 - and this will sound really cheesy but Fynn was in NICU for 2.5 weeks when he was born and I prayed, I have never done religion but I prayed and promised that if he made it (I made the mistake of googling what it has and the stats were pretty grim) I would never ever complain about him being noisy and tbh I dont much. And (and this isnt meant to guilt anyone) I think of Hayley and her little Alex who died of SIDS at 10 days old - and that alone makes me feel lucky.

Ok so you can alllll slap me now lol x

Me and OH do the who's more tired as well because he suffers from chronic back and leg pain. So while he never has to get up with the baby, he's often up from the pain. Also, I've been back at work since he was 9 weeks, which means getting up at 7 am no matter how my night went.

I feel you hun, 18 months of 3/4 hours broken sleep a night was a killer, its eased up now and i only up once or twice during the night, still take e 20 cups of tea to get going in the mornings :(

:hugs:

I think we all get like this sometimes...I even feel like it when some mums go on and on about what good sleepers their lo's are! Shut up!

It does get easier though...they will sleep through eventually!

I regret ever saying that I was ever tired before I became a mum!!! You don't know the meaning of the word until you've had the sleepless nights!

And I'm guilty of scoffing at people when they tell me they're tired...I let them know what time my LO's got me up in the night/morning! Luckily my little boy sleeps through now (fingers crossed!)

One friend tried to liken it to having cats...her cat wakes her up in the night by licking her face?!? My response...erm no its not - trying throwing your baby outside and leaving it there without getting a knock on the door!!! Like having BLINKING pets...grrrr....

Lucas is usually a great sleeper but has a cold atm and keeps waking up every few hours in the night, and that's only been for a few nights!

I'm in a permanent grump and very bitter about my lack of sleep  :coffee:
It's interesting how many of us are suffering because you always feel like everyone else's baby is a much better sleeper than yours and I often forget I'm not the only one :hugs:

:hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs:

poor you - totally know how you feel and you don't sound at all bitter to me hun!

I have a 2 year old boy and a 7.5 month old girl and I went for almost 22 months without a full nights sleep. I was struggling to cope and totally changed personality wise. No wonder they use sleep deprivation as torture, its awful. i hope your LO starts sleeping all night soon hun. X

Some friends of ours got a puppy this year and they are always likening having a dog to having a baby... :dohh:   :growlmad:

(We do have a dog btw, and a cat, so i remember what puppy training is like...and it is NOTHING like having a baby!!!!!!!)

Also, totally off topic but i love the pic of your LO in your sig Mrs Muffin :D Toby LOVES going on the swings too :cloud9:
