.88 cent test positive but first response negative

So I have been trying to conceive for 5 months now and this month I have had many symptoms to make believe that this month is my month! I have taken 4 .88 cent test day 5, 4 and 3 days before my period (today is 3 days before my period) and all have had a faint pink color or thick line, which I have never had before, not even after the test had set out for hours. I then took a first response test to confirm it and it was negative, could the .88 cent test be right?

It looks like dye run to me sorry. Keep testing though..good luck.

Those look like dye runs. They happen when too much urine is on the test sometimes, and are super common with the 88 cent tests. When it's positive, it's a clearer, thinner line. To be honest I'd go off the FRER.

Oh I hate to be a Debbie Downer but I agree with the other ladies. I used the exact same dollar tree tests this cycle and my faint positive line was the exact same size as the control line. I will say though that the dollar tree test gave me my BFP two whole days before I got it on FRER so they do work! Fingers crossed for you!
