Hey there, i dont know if anyone will know the answer to my question, but i thought i would throw it out there.

Basically im now 9 days overdue. I wouldnt mind going to 14 days till induction but my spd this last week has gotten horrific. Im sure ladies who have it will know, but i can sleep, it hurts to lie down, it hurts to walk, it hurts to sit. I have to totally rely on my other half which was great at the weekend but now he is at work. thankfully one of my children is at school and gets picked up and dropped off, but my other little one im struggling to look after.

Now, im meant to have a mw apt at the doctors tomoro, and i genuinely will not be able to get there, im pretty much incapacitated!! (if that is the right word) So i am going to ring my mw this morning explaining i can get there and asking if she will see me at home. I was also going to ask about induction. Now being 9 days over with terrible spd i dont think its too much to ask to have an induction booked in the next few days, but i know she will offer me a sweep. I dont want a sweep. I had one with my first and it was so painful and it did nothing! Also i dont want to put myself through it this time because like i said i can hardly move, can barely open my legs, cant lie down comfortably, and it might not even work anyway!!

So, do you think if i refuse a sweep they will refuse to book me an induction soon?!? x

Edited to add, my other 2 children were no where near as over due and they were both 9lbers, im worried if i go to 42 weeks ill have a huge baby and it will make my condition worse and i might damage myself :(

Hi there, you poor thing sounds like you're in agony. Where I live a sweep is partof the induction process. However I would probably push the point about your 9lbers and the fact that you are more overdue this time, and link with your spd and in the interests of you having a vaginal birth is it not better they start the medical induction ASAP? Worth a shot and good luck..x

U can refuse the sweep and have an induction. It is totally up to you what procedure u have, not there's! They may recommend but you have the final say.
Good luck

Well i rang the hospital and after lots of being passed around i got put through to a lovely lady at triage. I feel so relieved i rang now. I explained my situation and she said although she is very busy on triage today she is going to try and get me seen today on maternity day unit, and get an induction booked soon. Infact she seemed very surprised that i havent already had one booked. I was so worried i was going to come across as just a moaner who was just tired of waiting so was trying it on, but she was lovely. Fingers crossed she gets back to me soon! If they offer me a sweep today i still dont think ill take it, if they are gonna induce me soon anyway. Thanks for replying to me, it always makes me feel better knowing someone has taken the time to listen to me :)

Fx u get your induction date soon xxx
