I had a 7 week scan 2 weeks ago. All was well saw heart beat etc.

I had a 9 week scan today. Doc did my scan and we saw heart beat and she said baby was all curled up, but was hard to get a clear pic so she sent me to another machine to get scan & pic. This time the tech did my scan but I was only measuring 8 weeks.

My last period was on 26th April and my iui on 7 th may.

Tech said, doc must of given me wrong dates and that I'm 8 weeks not 9.

My doc was busy so asked her to call me. Doc called me & said I am 9 weeks, sac is measuring good, heart beat is good but yea baby measuring at 8 weeks. Doc said it could be because baby was curled up so hard to measure from
Head to toe.

I will now have a 11 week scan in 2 weeks to make sure all okay.

Anyone else experience this?

Hey, sorry to hear you are a bit confused and I'm assuming stressed out a bit.

This is actually quite common, you may have ov'd later than u anticipated AND there is a variance in U/S of up to 5 days +/-, I measured 5 days behind but that was at 8 weeks, they said they will keep my dates since it's in the same window, so you may be a couple days back but nothing huge to worry about, if baby looks good then chances are they will stay that way :)

This is very common, and it has happened to me also. It's nothing to get stressed about, you probably ovulated later than you thought.

I had scan and measured 7+1 and exactly 2 weeks later I measured 8+6. Sonographer didn't seem concerned and said good heartbeat of 180 and it can sometimes be a little out or baby about to go through growth spurt. I have my 12 week scan booked for tomorrow so got everything crossed all is OK and will be interested to see what I measure xxx

I had a scan at 8 weeks and was measured 7 weeks. Like you, I was in a panic state but nurse wasn't concerned as baby's heart beat is strong and everything else looks good. I was googling like mad as I know exactly when the baby was conceived because its via ivf. Yesterday, I went to my first obs appointment and when I had the scan, the baby is now measuring almost 6 days ahead! I mentioned to my obs that baby was measuring behind first scan, he said that sometimes it is difficult to measure before 9 weeks and the most important thing is a strong and regular heartbeat and a healthy sac. Good luck :flower:

Thanks Ladies,

Your posts have really made me feel much much better :-)

I know I will still worry, and am going to see if I can go and have a scan next week instead of waiting for 2 weeks.

My babys heart beat was 113 my doc and tech both said that is fine and a good strong heart beat.

On the internet I read it should be higher for 9 weeks, but I guess it should be fine if i am not measuring 9 weeks.

I will just remain positive and eat healthy.

I heard that dates are hard to pin point really well before 12 weeks. I wouldn't worry too much!

I have just read on google, were a few ladies were measuring a week behind and then the following week the babys heart rate dropped and the week after no baby...its just freaked me out.

It took me a while to get pregnanet and luckily my first IUI worked and now all this :-(

Hey! This happened with me I went at 8+5 or something and measured 7+3. I said no it's wrong and sure enough at my 12 week scan he had grown to the gestational age I thought I was at. At 39 weeks I gave birth to a healthy baby boy! So don't worry it doesn't mean anything. Seeing a heartbeat is what is important and you did:happydance: I know it's hard not to worry but hang in there:hugs:

Instead of having a scan in 2 weeks, I have now booked my self in for next week.

At least I will know then, praying I will see a heart beat and growth has caught up but even if growth has not caught up, just seeing the heart beat will help me get through.

hurry up this week, I know I am wishing life away, but I just want wednesday to come super fast!
