I had a miscarriage almost 4 weeks ago, and I have some questions for you ladies who have personal experiences to share. There's a few questions so bare with me, I didn't want to spam this forum with threads lol.

First of all I was wondering when you got your first period after your miscarriage, and if it was any different than your normal periods? If so what was different about it? Did you get pregnant right after your miscarriage? If not how long did it take you to get pregnant again? With your pregnancy after the miscarriage, did you get similar symptoms? Did you have a feeling that you were pregnant, and how did you find out? My last question is, is there any danger/complications that could occur due to having a new pregnancy too soon after a miscarriage?

With my pregnancy the most prominent symptoms i had were sore/tender breasts, cramps, moodiness and strong smelling urine.Well.. the last couple days Iv been noticing strong smelling urine, moodiness and Iv been getting more headaches than usual. I'm sure it could just be due to an impending period, I have heard the first period after a miscarriage can be different.. but I have been having unprotected sex every weekend not long after the miscarriage happened, so pregnancy is always possible, but I'm not going to get my hopes up.

Just wanna hear what you ladies have to say and any personal experiences with getting pregnant not long after a miscarriage.

Thank you in advance for all your replies :)

Hi, I'm really sorry about your loss.

My period came 5 weeks after my bleeding stopped from my mc and I'm not sure about anyone else but mine was really heavy. I had 2 periods before I got pregnant again with this baby.
I was told theres no physical reason to wait until you've had a period before you get pregnant again, I was just warned that it could be psycholigical torture. I didn't listen, and they were right. I had no idea when I ovulated, spent the weeks after I stopped bleeding having lots of sex just incase and a few weeks later when I did a test and still had a faint line, I convinced myself it was a new pregnancy. When I got my period I was devastated. I wish I had waited until after my period to start trying again so I knew where I stood with my cycle.

With the symptoms you're having, yes it could be a new pregnancy (fingers crossed) but it could also be left over HCG in your system producing pregnancy symptoms. It takes everyone a different amount of time for that HCG level to go back to normal.

However, I'm now in the second trimester with my rainbow baby and will have this baby 4 months after my precious angel would have been born.

Take some time and let yourself heal and good luck

Firstly sorry to hear of your loss. :hugs:
I got my first 5 wks after my mc. It was a little heavier and I was a little more crampy. Was told by my doc that I should wait 2 cycles before trying again but in my case had no choice because I had a huge cyst due to my PCOS which took 2-3 months to clear on its own. Although not true for me I have heard of many women who fell pregnant right after their mc and went on to have healthy pregnancies. As for me I mcd in Oct 2011 and did not become pregnant until May 2012 (which coincidentally was the month my loss should have been born) so it took me about 7 months but I also have pcos which makes it more difficult to become pregnant. My rainbow baby was born 2-4-13!
I did have a feeling I was preggers. So much so I went to my fs and did a beta and it was negative but 3 days later I still had symptoms so I poas and got a positive on both an hot and digi called fs and they did another beta which also came back positive. As for my symptoms they were the same as what you stated with both pregnancies but I would say stronger this pregnancy then they were with my previous loss. Never got ms with either pregnancy.
Wishing you the best and hope you get your rainbow baby really soon.

Hi sorry for your loss

I had my 4th mc on the 2nd jan this year and I bled about a week after which I thought was just related to the mc if I'm honest and didn't pay much attention after the mc I talked to my oh and we decided not to try again straight away with the decision being we might never try again then in feb I started to feel my boobs getting sore so we took a test and it was positive and I'm now 20weeks so as ya can tell no break between mc and expecting again some people don't get their periods back straight away and if you have had unprotected sex its defo possible that you could be pregnant again x

I've had six mc and two kids. Typically, I get my period 6-7 weeks after a mc but it's usually been 4 weeks after the blood tests show my hCG levels are back to zero (~2-3 weeks after mc) The only thing about my periods that has stayed the same/gotten better is the regularity-I was VERY irregular before my mc and kids. Now, I'm typically 28 days on the dot. I've gotten pregnant as early as 8 weeks after a mc but this pregnancy is eight months after my last mc. As for pg symptoms, those have changed with each one of my pg. Never had the same symptoms twice in a row. It's different for everyone I guess.

Hi, I had a miscarriage and got pregnant again straight after before my period started. I knew straight away as I felt everything the same. It did not turn out well but it is possible to get pregnant before you have a period. x
