So I'm pAnicing now
I have worked in my job as a deputy store manager for over 3 years now
I am the only income provider in my household as my partner is a full time dad and does not work, we swapped roles when my daughter was born.

We get help I.e child tax, working tax and help towards rent

When I hot on maternity leave I only get 6 weeks pay then SMP which is only 500
My tax credits are based on my wage if 1300 a month so will be a bit of a difference especially with the tax credits being so low now

I'm panicking now because I will nit be able to live on 500 SMP and the money I get help

Will tax credit and my council increase my payments so I can survive and pay my £800 rent

Your tax credits should increase - they don't count the first £100 of your SMP so will only count the difference (I think £35.45 per week?). No idea about housing benefit I'm afraid, but I would have though it would increase too.

Try using the benefits calculator on Direct.gov website, it should give you an idea and hopefully put your mind at rest x
