I'm hoping that I can get some advice from those in the over 35 group.

I was told today by my specialist that I have the ovaries of someone much older than me, I have fewer eggs than normal at my age, and they are going to be of poorer quality, now while I am 31 I would like to get some advice on what to do in the situation of effectively being over 35.

What can I do to improve my chances, is there anything to help, I just want as much advice as possible. I waited for everything to be right and now I'm worried I may have missed my chance.

When your Dr. says you have fewer/poor eggs are they going by your FSH # or by something else?
Some people swear by certain herbs and acupuncture to help lower FSH. I don't have any personal experience with either of those but maybe someone else can offer more details.

Hi FrothyBunny

What dissappointing news for you...don't despair though...at least you know there is good potential for a BFP at some point

I too have heard that acupuncture can be really helpful when ttc. We have been ttc for nearly a year now and I am thinking of trying it. I don't really have any good tips for you other than :happydance:positive vibes are so important:happydance:

Good luck hun xxx

Sorry it wasn't better news... but don't give up! Getting pregnant later in life comes with it's own challenges, regardless of your fertility health etc... oh fun! lol. BUT... I'm sure there are things you can do to better your chances.

As some others said- acupuncture might be a good option? Also- there are supplements you could take (my hubby takes Fertilaid - as he had a reversal and it helps with male fertility)- but there is one for women also... helps ready your body with lots of vitamins and minerals, plus extra stuff for fertility. I can't guarantee it works- lol- but I figure if it doesn't hurt and it could help, then why not? You can find it online. It's a bit spendy- but very similar to one our Dr. recommended and much cheaper too. The only thing I do know is that my hubby took it for 3 mos before his reversal- and the Dr. was even a bit surprised at the results when we went back for his "check-up" at 2 mos... he said things looked really good. Usually it can take a good while for things to get back to "normal" after such a procedure.

Otherwise- eat healthy, cut out the alcohol and caffeine and exercise regularly. Basically, a healthy body has a better chance... 35+ or not... also, there are so many stories of people who conceived against all odds. So stay positive and imagine it happening ;)

GOOD LUCK!!!!

Have your doctor check your Dhea levels - if low you could supplement - helps eggs (normal regime for someone undergoing IVF is for 3 months prior for better egg development if Dhea levels low).

CoQ10

Royal jelly

Those along with a regular prenatal and B-complex

Thanks for all the advice, but my oH dumped me last night, so I guess that's the end of my journey.

going to go find tissues now.
