Just got my letter through for my HyCoSy and it is at 9.30am on 10th may. A little nervous because i dont really know what to expect as different people have different stories to tell about it. A bit of a pointless thread i guess but just looking for some stories (good and bad) to try to know what to expect. I am the sort of person who decides to get a tattoo now i dont really arrange things i just do them spur of the moment so i am going to wind myself up over this until its done. Sorry for rambling on  :flower:

I will join you.....I am having mine on 13th may! I am not worried so much by the procedure itself, more what they may find. I generally have a fairly high tolerance of things, just planning to take the full day off, and ibuprofen an hour before. I am anxious that they are going to find soe scarring/blocked tube though as I had an emergency section with my angel son.

I am seeing it as, either way, it is a big step forward to have this done, and we should get some answers/a plan going forwards.

Heya,

I had a HyCoSy done in April last year. The procedure itself is a bit of an odd feeling, they insert a catheter into your uterus and the put the dye in whilst using the v/u/s to see if ur tubes are clear - it is uncomfortable mainly period like cramping like u feel quite full in ur uterus, like i say its an odd feeling difficult to describe. Afterwards I ached a little bit but was able to go about my normal day to day stuff. I would recommend you go with ur partner or a close friend so they can drive you if u feel too uncomfortable. Its definatley a good idea to take pain relief an hour before you go. Good luck, I hope it goes well for you :) xx

heres_hoping... i have mine on the 13th of may too!! at 3pm so i've got all day to stress about it lol x keep us posted girls on your experience and your outcomes x

lupinerainbow - Dont worry about it! Its not as bad as we think. I had a HSG and a HyCosy (Aqua scan) both near enough the same and I remember I got sooo scared, Im a big fat chicken. I started crying when they said they are going to insert the dye and the GYN smiled and laughed (probably thinking 'Fat Chicken!') and when they inserted the dye it didnt hurt at all, I felt like a plum for crying. I got scared coz of the stories I read. Truth is it all depends on every person, everyone's experience is different will be different. Be strong and relax as much as possible, this reduces pain/difficulty when they put the catheter in. through out the procedure just imagine yourself with a baby and all this will be worth it in the end! x

In my HyCosy they GYN found said I might have fibroids because it looked bit like that in the scan. I had a surgery which they couldnt see, then another surgery yesterday and All praise to god, it was alright, no fibroid. You just have to be positive, It sucks having one process after the other but all will be worth it in the end. x

Ok, so just made the mistake of googling what happens if hycosy shows blocked tubes...and came across a you tube video of laparoscopy! Interesting, but scary! :s

heres_hoping - Nooo dont google it, its going to make you scared over nothing. (Ok thats rich coming from me! I checked all the positives and negatives and had the fright of my life) but anyways trust me it causes stress and worry, avoid reading much about it. It will be just fine! xx
