A question for Aptamil users...

My LO is part-time formula, part-time breastfed and I've been using Aptamil Stage 1. I still have one and a quarter containers of the Stage One but just noticed that the Stage Three says 'from six months'. (The Stage Two seems to be for hungrier babies). Is it still okay to use the Stage One (it will take me about two weeks to get through it) or should I toss/give away it and buy Stage Three now that my LO is 6 1/2 months already. Thanks

(Don't know if it's relevant or not but LO has been having solids for about a month now, now two meals a day).

I have been told to always keep babies on stage 1 formula - never go onto anything else as the others are just like 'cement in a babys stomach' - my midwife told me this - so I would be saying keep on with the stage 1 and dont go onto anything else at all ever.

however.....the aptamil tubs do say 'use within a month of opening' so I would be careful with that!

So confusing! So when would Stage 3 be used?

(I seem to read a lot about stages 1/2/3 of weaning etc. in posts by UK ladies but they're not terms we use much here. Are there ages that match up with each stage?)

i would stay on stage 1 till your lo is 12 mths wen they can hav cows milk.
stage 3 follow on milk is used by the milk manufacturers 2 advertise their products cos stage1 and 2 milks cannot be advertised. I kept my LOs on stage 1 and never used the others.

the stage 3 has more iron in it as when babys get to 6 months they need iorn but if having food they will get it from there. ky lo will be on it because iam doing blw and think he will need it but it is up to ur self

I thought it might be to do with the iron. Other than that, from what I read, there isn't a whole lot of diff between them. Thanks
