Anyone tear the first time then go on to not tear the 2nd time? I always think because I got cut last time and tore slightly that il tear again this time round? I'd rather avoid it if I can lol

Thank you for asking! I want to know as well (I had a labial tear last time I want to know if I should expect one again).

I had an episiotomy first time an had a second degree tare the next but was only 2 stitches. It happened because I had a quick labour of 1hr 55. I was in the bath an wanted to push suddenly an midwife told me not to til I got out the bath an to my room lol but the urge to push is uncontrollable!

Hehe thankyou for your reply. I know how the uncontrollable push is like I think people are stupid if they think you can hold on and not push lol

I had a 3rd/4th degree tear with my first. With my second I had a small 1st degree tear and an even smaller 2nd degree :). I didn't even get stitches! Due to the bad previous tear I had to do controlled pushing and although it was hard not to push when the urge came it definitely helped.
Good luck :)

Oh I know... I was not trying to push, but my body took over and was doing it anyway. When they finally gave me to OK it was the BEST relief ever. I tore because he came out kind of sideways.

I don't get how they can say not to push! I was in the bath, an the urge came out of the blue. They said to me I cant give birth in the bath so for health an safety reasons they wanted to transport me from the bath to my room via wheelchair.. They expected me to be able to sit down with a head almost hanging out. I nearly gave birth on the wheel chair lol funny now, not funny then. I did swear at them when they were trying to get me out the tub! Poor midwives

I was in the bathroom of the delivery room yelling, "I can't help it!" My Dh was like, "You WILL not be that woman that gives birth on the bathroom floor!" Yeah, that made me suck it up and get somewhere a little more sanitary. LOL... Not funny at the time, but funny now, yes.

Yep 2nd degree internal tear with #1, had to bear down and forcefully push him out on my back (He was posterior tho)

#2 came out with the natural pushing that comes with contractions, I was kneeling up and he pretty much just fell out once his head was crowning... caused no damage whatsoever lol!

I had a 2nd degree tear with the first (5 minutes of pushing).
I never tore the second time (one push and bigger head).

Thank you for all your replies you's have given me some hope. :) I just don't fancy having 4weeks of not being able to sit or walk anywhere again especially now I have a toddler to look after! I'm going to try everything to avoid tearing soak my bits in Vaseline if I have to! Lol
