Hi ladies.
Here is an amazing home birth story (Vbac) with a fast delivery!
I went up to the hospital on 24th September due to the pain on right side of bump and they picked up that I was likely to be in early stage of labour but don't know when it will pick up because of irregular contractions so think I was possibly in slow labour for a week without realising so on Thursday 1st October, I had a bloody show but losing mucus plug few days before. Nothing happen throughout the day til just before 12am I got up to go to loo to try to wee but couldn't then walked back to the bed and as soon as I got into bed after 12am I felt 'pop' but three times! I thought the water has broken but it hasn't come out *shrugs* but suddenly my contractions become really bad, I woke hubby up and told him I think water broken but it was not coming out. I got out of the bed and trying to calm myself down with contractions but I thought no I can't cope with this contractions THAT bad!!!! Told hubby I need to go to hospital. Hubby got dressed and I texted my mum at 12.15am (I am deaf so can't ring her) to say I need her here now! She replied to say she can't due to sleep in with a client at work and ask to contact Dad, my mum called him for me but he can't come as he had a drink! BUT my mum called my brother so they were coming now.
So I stayed upstairs and on the floor with all 4 down trying to cope with the waves of contractions and hubby went downstairs and I decided to go downstairs. So, I decided to call midwife led unit based in Lichfield to let them know that I am in labour (I am confused at this stage with wondering why water hasn't broken!) and need midwife here NOW. They said sending two midwives right away due to that I had a c-section and need to assess throughout labour and it was at 12.30am ish. I stayed in one place with sofa with an old duvet underneath me that hubby bought down for me and signed to hubby "where is the midwife?!" I got worried that she hasn't turn up yet! My eldest son woke up with bad dream and came downstairs and my hubby ushered him upstairs and put him back to bed so he hadn't seen me! So around 12.45am I felt need to push and told hubby that and hubby signed to me "No! Wait for the midwife!!!!" I said no I can't stop it and need to go!!! Continue to pushing as the stool has come out (TMI) so it has cleared out and then continue to pushing for 15-20 mins while midwife wasn't turning up!! Then suddenly I got scared of the pain of the baby's head going through but got no choice but to push! So the head was out and hubby stayed with me and signed to him to guide him "are you ready to catch the baby for next contraction?" He replied yes. So next contraction I pushed the baby out! My hubby delivered the baby and i picked the baby up and check to see if it's really a girl and yes it is really a girl!!! Midwives were still not turn up at 1.05am that when she arrived! I moved to different place to sit down on the floor with duvet underneath me. While waiting for midwives and my mum tells me to call for an ambulance because the baby has arrived and need to check over so hubby called for ambulance. It was just after 1.30am - 25 mins waiting for midwife and ambulance, finally ambulance, midwives and my brother with his girlfriend arrived at same time and midwife was shocked to see the baby is already here! The midwife told ambulance to stand down because me and the baby are fine. The placenta still inside me and ask me if feel any more contractions and I said no. They have given me an injection to help to get it out - ohhh feel much better when it was out and hubby cut the cord! They checked the placenta and my lady bits and I had no tear and no need for any stitches! But I have been shaking all the way through labour but when I had her out and shaking was bad and I held the baby, told hubby I felt sick and my brother and hubby quickly went into the kitchen to grab me a bowl and I throw up. Ugh! So after a bit while, my brother asked me if we still need them and I said not really as the boys are in bed (I have two boys!) and we are fine so they went home. Two midwives sort out paperwork and sort the baby out and I told them I need a bath to warm me up, so hubby ran me a bath and the baby was not ready to be fed at this time. So I went in the bath for a bit to warm myself up and clean myself up quickly and got out of the bath and one of midwives dressed the baby up already so they left us to our newborn girl! So did a good feeding from a breast and grab some sleep. So that's it for my home birth story!!
Only one big bonus is my hubby delivered her plus I did it all on my own without any helps from gas!!! Felt like that I am a superwoman!!
So this is my last pregnancy and last baby!!! A nice way to remember! :-D
